Taxi wasn't a boring show, but it may have been over the younger audience's heads, which may have made it kind of dull to them. I loved the show, but the only person I couldn't stand was Reverend Jim, and I think that his character got on lots of people's nerves, which may have turned many off of the show.

I agree with callmetootie that much of the humor of Taxi may have gone over the heads of younger viewers. At least this was the case with me. When I first saw Taxi as a young teenager, I did find it boring... it was a show that my parents liked to watch. But now that I am older, I appreciate it a lot more. It is a decidedly adult situation comedy, and very well written.

Cool

I guess it was over the heads of a lot of younger people. Or maybe they just plain didn't like the show. Personally, I've always preferred adult situation comedies to many of the family shows and teenybopper shows out there.

Cool

I loved watching the reruns with my mom when I was little and I thought it was funny. Now, that I am an adult and I get the jokes, it's even more funny.

Actually, I liked Taxi even before I was 12. I watched it when I was 8, and found it funny and I thought it was a great show. Once I found out Jeff Conaway played Bobby, I watched all the time, waiting for his episodes to come on. I had a thing for him back then...

I agree, Taxi might not be for the younger audience. But for teens and up, it's a very funny show.

If I had young kids, I'd actually prefer they watch Taxi over just about anything that airs nowadays. There's hardly anything on the regular networks for families to watch anymore. Thank God for cable!
