My friends all have them and told me to get one, but I have no clue as to how they work! Does anyone here have one?

I don't really like MySpace, and I can't say exactly why. I have an accont that I never really use. I guess I just prefer other means for keeping in touch with friends, and I prefer what I consider to be more traditional message boards, such as this one, for meeting new online friends.

i think i'm so addicted to it because it's a unique and vital way of keeping in touch with people from school and expressing myself to them in ways i couldn't do anywhere else. that's exactly what i primarily have it for, i'm not there to meet anyone new.

and damn it to hell i don't think anyone's mentioned it in this thread yet but MYSPACE IS NOTHING LIKE LIVEJOURNAL. i will never understand why people act like they're the same thing. myspace is a social community, livejournal is a damn diary. i have both and myspace has a hell of a lot more features than LJ anyway.

So true, and people want to compare them and Xanga all the time, and they are nowhere near the same.

hell yeah. i've been pissed at the world and depressed lately so i had a blast changing my profile over the weekend to suit my mood. made the entire page shades of gray and black and put in a grayscale filter for all the pictures, as well as put "**** YOU!" for every field in the interests, typed a negative paragraph about me in the "about me" section, and a bunch of other stuff, just totally darkened it. i <3 it.
