There's this black girl i know named Marquita who i'm interested in having a relationship with but she need to get her life together because at the rate she's going, she will be going nowhere with her life. She lives with her mom and she works at a nursing home. She told me a few weeks ago that she wants to work 2nd shift at her job so she can go out and hang with her friends. She works 3rd shift now. I didn't say anything when she said that but when i was at home, i shook my head thinking about what she said because ain't no way i would rather hang with friends than get my life together. The good thing is she's 25 and she doesn't have any kids. She told me she doesn't want any kids. I was glad she said that because there might be a future for her and i if she wants to be with me. I just don't like the people she deals with and she has to always be around her best female friend all the time. Her best friend lives in a bad neighborhood and she told me she wants to move where her friend is so she can be close to her. What sense does it make to move to a bad neighborhood just to be close to your best friend? Her best friend can come visit her where she stays and she can visit her. Why she gotta live near her? Marquita has been this way for some time now and i don't really see her changing. She didn't have any gas in her car when i asked her about coming over to my uncle's house a few weeks ago to see me. I told her i would give her some gas money but i changed my mind. I said to myself, why should i give her money when she got a job.

Well at least she IS working and doesn't have any kids. I don't see a problem with someone wanting to hang out with their friends as long as they're not doing drugs or anything like that. She's still young and she should be able to have some fun at this time in her life as long as she's able to save some money at the same time. I don't agree about moving in the bad neighborhood and it's good you didn't give her any money. She has a job so she should be able to put gas in her own car.

As long as she is working and her mother doesn't mind her living at home then what is the problem? It seems she has some money problems though. Does she pay rent, utilities, bills, etc or she is just out spending her money freely?

I don't get it Isiah, first you complain abt these chicks that have several kids, no life, etc. and now here is one that has a job, a car, and no kids, and you still find something to complain abt.

Rusyd i don't think she pays rent because she only makes $8.50 a hour at her job. Then again maybe she does pay rent but since she lives with her mom, i seriously doubt it. She does have a cellphone so i'm sure she pays that bill. I don't know if she has car insurance but knowing her, she probably doesn't. Ireneparalegal the reason i'm complaining about her is because she's not doing much with her life. Yeah she doesn't have any kids and i'm surprised she doesn't have any because she's always in the streets all the time and she deals with thugs. All a black guy has to do is have some weed and she'll deal with you. The guy could be a rapist, a thief, a drug dealer, she wouldn't care. I've even taken her to a couple of bad neighborhoods before to buy some weed and she acts like she doesn't have a care in the world if she got busted by the police for buying weed. That's why i stopped taking her to buy weed because i'm not going to jail for nobody. She also pissed me off a long time ago when i picked her up at a motel for this party she went to because before i came there, i told her not to bring nobody with her to my car because i'm only giving her a ride home. So of course when i come there to pick her up, some thug lookin nig*a walks to my car with her and she asks me if i can give him a ride. I told her, what did i say to you about not bringing nobody with you to my car. So i ended up getting into a argument with her and this nig*a. The nig*a acted like he wanted to fight me but it didn't lead to a fight. I dropped the nig*a off and i told her don't ever do that sh*t again. I'm very surprised somebody hasn't gotten her pregnant. I'm very surprised about that because her 3 sisters have kids. They always hang in the streets too and you know when a person always hangs in the street, it could lead to trouble.

Alot of people I work with make about the same as she does and they live at home and give their parents rent money. That's why I asked. Sounds like she just wants to party and has no ambition at this point in her life, but that doesn't mean she won't grow up and change her attitude. If she gives you so much grief then why don't you stay away from her for now?
