Question Why is it so difficult...

for a tv network to get Silver Spoons put on the air? I mean, there are plenty of old shows on tv right now that really suck compared to Silver Spoons.

I agree. On Prime TV in Canada there are old shows like: "The Golden Girls", "Petticoat Junction", and "All In The Family" (just to name a few.) I find those shows so boring.
Prime took off one of my fave old sitcoms "I Dream Of Jeannie" months ago and put on "Barney Miller" in place of it. The only two good shows they have on Prime now are "Hogans' Heroes" and "Who's The Boss?" If I was in charge of Prime all anyone would see would be 80s sitcoms. I don't see why NBC, ABC or TBS doesn't air shows such as "Silver Spoons", either. It would be cool if NBC, ABC or TBS added "Silver Spoons" to their line-up.

I think it's not shown because it was only a popular show for kids and teens. It's different with things like "Family Ties" because a lot of adults watched that show and it was # 2 in the ratings for a couple years. I don't think Spoons ever finished in the top 25. Most people in charge of programming at certain networks don't feel it would have an audience, even though it most likely would.

Actually Spoons was fairly well received by the adult audience as well and in 1985 was being considered for an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Actually, I think Silver Spoons would do really good if it were put back on the air. I wonder what the results were from Revenge of the 80's on Nick @ Nite when they showed Silver Spoons?

It would be excellent if Silver Spoons were put back on the air. I know I would watch it everyday. I think it's one of the greatest shows of all time. If it ever does come back on the air I hope it comes on TNN or TBS or some other regular non-sattelite channel because I don't get TV Land or Nick@Nite and would really like to see the show.

Question Why wasn't Spoons put back on while Rick was doing so well on Nypdblue?

Why wasn't spoons put back on the air during Rick's 3 years on Nypd blue I would think that the powers that be would have wanted to cash on Rick's new found celebrity. Also Why wasn't Rick on and in more magazines during that time I would think that since he was so huge in the 80's and then a big name again in the late 90's early 2000 that Rick would be every where like GQ People magazine etc. What do you all think?
