I realize that it is probably a long shot, but has anyone other than me noticed an eerie resemblance in the sketch artists' drawings of D.B. Cooper and the Zodiac Killer?

Nothing personal, But that sketch of the "Zodiac" compostie isn't exactly what I'd call good by any stretch.

That's what so great about this country. We are all entitled to our own opinions.
But you must be a professional sketch artist, right? |

I've expressed repeatedly that I'm certain Richard McCoy was DB Cooper so obviously I don't embrace any connection to Zodiac. However, I'm confident that sketch of Zodiac after the murder of cab driver Paul Stine in San Francisco was indeed a very good likeness.
Zodiac seemed to be spooked by the sketch and nearly being captured that night in the Presidio. In a subsequent letter he apparently threatened the teenagers who watched him cleanup after the murder from the nearby upstairs window. Plus in that letter or one in the same time frame he more or less conceded the sketch was accurate, "but I only look like that when I do my thing." The sketch must have been the work of the teenagers plus the two officers who saw Zodiac and perhaps spoke to him. I think they did, but there is debate in that regard. One of the officers died within months. That case is another reason I doubt the DNA aspect of the DB Cooper case. They looked for DNA relentlessly in terms of Zodiac and finally located a partial DNA profile via an envelope. As I expected, it did not match the top suspect Arthur Leigh Allen. They announced that on a high profile episode of 20/20 maybe three years ago. Zodiac was a case of multiple murders. DB Cooper was a skyjacking that harmed no one physically. Why would DNA results, if available, be publicly released on the Zodiac case but concealed on the Cooper case? Makes zero sense. I always believed the radian and Mt. Diablo aspect were the key to solving who Zodiac was. Those are extremely unique aspects and someone who could have that type of mindset and knowledge should have stood out to friends, family and classmates. As one website put it, they may have been the most cerebral murders of all time, specific locations chosen to fit a geographical plan. His knowledge of cryptography was extensive to the point some of his puzzles were never solved and the one that was stumped experts for days. You would think interest and skill level like that would have stood out to his acquaintances, at least at one point. For what it's worth (not much), I don't believe Zodiac had anything do do with the '66 Bates murder in Riverside, but I do think he gave the weird ride to Kathleen Johns after the final murders he was connected to. I'd like to bet Zodiac's real name has never surfaced publicly as a potential suspect. |
