It depends on how loud, how much, and what they talk about. If they were whispering inaudibly during the scary part, I wouldn't mind. BUT...if they were whispering to each other LOUDLY and CONSTANTLY and were practically spoiling the movie for me, then yes, I would mind.

some couple in the theatre were arguing very loudly ... throughout the entire picture! I didn't truly enjoy the movie until it came out much later on video. |

I hear people talk a lot in movies. I don't mind them talking. I also noticed people talk during previews and some people even talk in the movie. If some people were talking to each other really loud then I would't want them to talk.

I hate when people talk in the movies! I find it so rude that they would spoil it for everyone else who actually wants to see the movie! If I'm paying $10 a ticket, I actually want to hear the movie, not some teens talking throughout the film. I don't even like when my friends start to talk to me during the movie.
I actually had a bad experience seeing the first Saw movie. We were in a small theater and the place was PACKED with pre-teens who kept yelling during the movie and screaming loudly during the scary scenes ( which I don't mind in small doses but they kept dragging it on just trying to be obnoxious). Like Karen Foster said, I don't mind the whispering here and there...but when people try to spoil the movie and yap throughout the whole thing, I get pissed. |

It bothers me a lot. I'm one of these people who likes to concentrate on every aspect of a movie, each detail of what's going on, every bit of dialogue. When people talk during a movie, I think I'm going to miss something important in the movie.

Talking during a movie is one of my pet peeves as well. I don't mind boisterous laughter or the occasional comment, but to carry on an entire conversation about some other matter during a movie is just plain annoying...
