More Than Words-Extreme
Saying I love you Is not the words I want to hear from you It's not that I want you Not to say, but if you only knew How easy it would be to show me how you feel More than words is all you have to do to make it real Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me Cos I'd already know What would you do if my heart was torn in two More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real What would you say if I took those words away Then you couldn't make things new Just by saying I love you More than words Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand All you have to do is close your eyes And just reach out your hands and touch me Hold me close don't ever let me go More than words is all I ever needed you to show Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me Cos I'd already know What would you do if my heart was torn in two More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real What would you say if I took those words away Then you couldn't make things new Just by saying I love you More than words -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shelly Black typed the last sentence and pressed "save" on her computer. She had been working on her latest novel for hours. Sounds of a dog barking filled her ears. "Alright Jack, I know you're hungry, I'm comming." She smiled at the Dalmation pawing her leg. She got up and noticed that she had a phone message. She pressed the button and sat down to listen. "Hey Shelly, it's Dan. Listen, I know that we've been dating for a long time now, but I just don't think things are working out. I think we should see other people. I'm really sorry." The machine clicked off and Shelly simply stared at it in disbelief. Tears of pain and anger rolled down her cheeks and she ran to her bedroom and fell onto the bed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- William Grant, Bill to all of his friends, parked his patrol car and went inside his house. The feeling of lonliness echoed in the sounds of his house. He picked up a picture from the side table and looked at it fondly. The picture was of his late wife, Linda. The memories of that night two years ago came flooding back. "Come on honey, I just want to look at some houses, it'll be fun!" Bill promised Linda as he kissed her cheek. "Oh, all right." Linda rolled her eyes, unable to refuse her husband's begging. They got into the car and started down the rode. Bill turned up the radio and he and Linda sang along to "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys. An eighteen wheeler came over the hill on the other side of the rode just ahead of them. Suddenly, the driver lost control and the truck headed straight for the passenger's side of Bill and Linda's car. "Mr. Grant, I'm so sorry. We did everything we could, but we lost her." Those words from the doctor would never leave Bill's mind. Tears fell from his eyes as he held Linda's picture in his arms. "Why did you have to leave me? Why did I make you go with me?" He whispered as his fist hit the table in anger. He had never forgotten that day and he would never stop blaming himself for what happened. He just knew that he could never love another woman after Linda. He layed back in his arm chair and fell into a restless sleep. |

Shelly awoke the next morning in a pool of her own tears. Jack layed patiently at her feet, his big brown eyes watching her intently. She scratched the dog's ears and got up to fix his breakfast. Jack munched happily as Shelly sat down at the table and drank her coffee pensively. After much thought and prayer the night before, she had come to the conclusion that dating was no longer an option for her. She just had to accept the fact that she would spend the rest of her life as a single woman. She was thirty-four and way past her expiration date, at least in her mind. Even though her ambition in life was to marry a Godly man and raise a family, she had decided that God had different plans for her. She had her pets and her novels, and those would just have to satisfy her.
She got dressed and pulled her long, dark hair into a ponytail as she went outside. A black and white horse greeted her from the fence across her yard. The beautiful mare nickered softly. "Hey there Fancy girl! How are you?" She stroked the mares neck. Black's One Chance Fancy, or Fancy for short, had been given to Shelly on her 21st Birthday by her father James. Horses had always been a passion for Shelly, but her parents could never afford one when she was growing up. After all, Shelly was the oldest of three girls, special privledges were rare. Shelly's sister Marie was now twenty-nine and Michelle was twenty-seven. Marie had been married to Daniel for four years now and they had a two year old son named Carter. Michelle had been married to Tom a little over two years and they were expecting their first child in a few months. Shelly couldn't help but be a little jealous as she watched her sisters. After all, they had what she always wanted, a loving husband and beautiful children. Their parents, James and Irene Black, had given up on Shelly ever getting married and often acted condesending towards her when the subject was brought up. She knew that being single was a big disappointment to her family, but they would just have to get over it. Shelly saddled Fancy and rode off into the woods. She needed time to be alone with her best friend, to think things out. She urged Fancy deeper into the woods and vanished from site. |

Bill Grant awoke the next morning and poured himself some coffee. His Canine partner Max, a German Shepherd, sat at his feet and begged for his breakfast. Bill fed the dog and went to shower. He dried his hair and put on his uniform. He looked extremely handsome, his muscular arms bulging through his sleeves. He loaded Max into the Patrol car and headed for the station.
Bill was no stranger to heartbreak. He was born into a poor family. His father was a farmer and his mother was a house wife. He lost both of them in a terrible fire when he was sixteen. He was an only child, so after losing his parents he had no family. He attended the local police academy and eventually became Chief of the local station. One Sunday at church, he met a girl that would change his life. She was tall and thin with long brown hair and a dainty little smile that made his heart melt. He soon found out that her name was Leslie Davis and he quickly fell in love. After dating for two years, he asked her to be his wife. They were married in a small church ceremony and honeymooned in the mountains. They were married for five years, then the accident. After Leslie’s death, Bill knew that he would never be able to love another woman. He just couldn’t open his heart again, only to have it broken. He had become accustom to living alone and that’s the way he intended to keep it. As he drove up the road he saw something that caught his eye. A woman appeared from the woods atop a black and white horse. Bill noticed her instantly. She wasn’t strikingly gorgeous, but soft and refined. Her long, dark hair flowed like silk over her shoulders. He had no idea why, but he needed to know who this woman was, he had to know. |
