Recently I was asked out by a man who's 38, has never been married, and dosen't have children. He's 38, and I'm 20. Obviously an 18 year age difference. I've never dated someone that much older, but I've always been curious about it and I want to try it. Does age really matter if you end up having a lot in common?

ehh.. i'd say if you were 30 and he was 48 that probably wouldn' matter... but I could be wrong, but i'd say a 38 year old is way too mature/old/experienced for a 20 year old.. but that's a general statement, you might be completely different... go w/ your gut.

I'm 30 and i think a 20 year old female is too young for me

I used to fuss about the age difference too, but then I realized that age is just a number. I have crushed badly over two guys who were both younger than me. They were not THAT younger but it bothered me for the longest time. It also depends on the individuals as well, as someone posted above.

Go with your gut instinct. You have to go with how YOU feel. You were the only one who has seen this man, so only you can make that decision.

It really doesn't matter. You left your teens, you'll be 21 in a short while and the guy has never wed nor had kids. Sounds like a good guy to me

. But go with your gut instinct too. If he acts like an *******, dump him ASAP.

If you have a great time with him, then who the hell cares about age...it's just a number.

Kind of a tough call. I mean, personally I have always felt that such a big age difference might be hard to handle. I mean, someone who is 18 years older has had more experience with life and has a whole slew of different things going on than a 20 year old. I know someone who is 17 and is being persued by a 36 year old...now, to me, that's just wrong. Not to mention illegal.

But, hey, you're old enough to know what you want and you seem mature. I'm not saying it can't work but those situations are tough to deal with.

I think it's kind of strange for a 38 year old man to be pursuing a 20 year old woman. It makes me wonder what exactly he's after and why he can't get someone closer to his own age. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go out to dinner with him or something but I would be very careful.
