Thelma and Michael got on my nerves in the episode Big Move Part 2

Thelma with her shaking and carrying on in the bedroom and Michael wanting to fight James co-workers for talking about the Good Times. That's what people do after a funeral when you go back to the house, you reflect on the Good times, like Florida said-"Celebrate the Life". I wanted to slap both of them in this episode. Surprisingly J.J wasn't annoying at all in this episode. Only Michael and Thelma

yeah, I guess it all started with Flo not crying...according to Thelma, who told JJ, she never cried once. but you are right. I have been to many funerals and gatherings and it's usually the rosary (catholic) and funeral that people cry alot or show sadness, but at home with all the guests, it becomes a festive mood. Recalling good times like you said; remembering when they made you laugh. Having lost my dad last year, I cried my eyes out the moment he died. At the rosary, I had to help my older sister, she lost it. I rarely cried. Only because I knew my father is in a better place. some people handle grief in different ways. but I do get what you mean, Michael was the one that pissed me off the most; he should have been enjoying the memories his friends had.

Exactly, there never any crying at the house

It's hard for some people to sit there and listen to people laugh and carry on, why they are still grieving and depressed over a loved one. I know if I were to lose one of my parents I don't think I could sit there and listen to people laugh and joke. But I wouldn't have screamed like Michael did, I would have just gotten up and went another room.

Yeah, he made a total fool of himself for yelling at the reverend and the old lady like that. That was soooo stupid. Totally uncalled for. I know this was the set-up to get Flo to finally release her grief and break the punchbowl. but still, it was just crazy. I thought when the day came I would lose my dad, I imagined I was going to go crazy. Instead, I was so strong. I cried in private. The memories and laughing about the good times made me feel so much better. To this day, I can have a good laugh thinking abt my dad, or any one of my members of my family. It feels so good. It feels better than crying. I couldn't imagine Flo having reacted any other way than she did. It was perfect. Her letting go in private would have come eventually. Thelma assumed her mom didn't mourn or cry for James, but she didn't know if Flo cried at night in bed, or in the shower. etc.

That's true, but you have to look at the age, Michael was what? 15/16, when his dad died and teens handle grief diffrently than adults. So I can see how and why Michael would lash out that way, he didn't understand. And plus this was the first death he had to deal with, and it was his dad someone was close too, he was heart broken.
