Post Where did Brendan Go?

For those who watched Step by Step during the 7th and last season on CBS, you'll notice that Brendan was no longer appearing on the show. Frank still still made reference to the fact the he and Carol had "7 beautiful kids" but we never saw Brendan. Does anyone know what happened to Josh Byrne the actor that potrayed Brendan?

Well, I don't know what Josh Byrne is up to, but Christine Lakin (Al) explained the reason for his departure in an online chat...

Host presents the speaker with question from Clnumba1fan:
Hi Christine! What is Josh Byrne doing these days? Why did he leave SBS? I haven't heard why he left.
Christine-cs says, "well, it's quite sad actually, I guess because he had such a small part all these years when Emily came on as a reacurring as well it was harder and harder to fit him in"
Christine-cs says, "so they let him go- I guess it may seem cruel and harsh and it is- but also"
Christine-cs says, "he is able to persue other things"
SUE-CS says, "That's true! "

They could have at least let him be a recurring characrter. IMO they should have kept him. Whenever Frank had to say how many kids he had, he would say "7".

That's really wrotten. I mean, what's the point of Carol and Frank having another baby, only to have her be an infant for a few episodes, and then make her older, and fire Josh's charactor? It just doesn't make much sense!

They probably felt that the baby would generate more storylines than yet another teenager. When you're talking about a show in its seventh year, that becomes a major concern. And letting Josh Byrne go saved money (another concern of a show in its seventh year). I'm not saying it was right, though -- the missing kid seemed really stupid to me. They would have been better off letting Rich go.

Cool

The thing is, o.k., having a baby, yeah, that was definately a way to boost ratings, what I'm sayin' though, is that they had the baby... but, then the next season, they made her just two years younger than Brendan was suppose to be. That's all. Anyway, it's ok to me, as long as they dont ever take it off the air!

In a Yahoo! Club, there's a Step By Step Role Playing Game.

And I play Brendan Lambert in the club, since I felt so sorry for him.

After 4 years of ignorance, Brendan's back & better than ever! He's 16 years old, attends Port Washington High & plays football (#35 running back). Brendan also drives a motorcycle.

He & 3 football buddies also form a rock band called 181 (the total number of their jersies). Brendan's the lead singer/guitarist of the band.

If you're a Brendan fan, please visit this Yahoo! club & read the messages that are part of the stories I make up.

Thank you.

As it turns out, Josh Byrne has done nothing as far as TV or film since the show.

Look at Family Matters at the end of the third season Judy Winslow was sent to her room and never to be seen of again, they written her character off with no explination. Same way with Happy Days, the had a son named Chuck Cunningham, all of a sudden his character is written off and hever heard of why it was written off.

After Judy's departure, Carl and Harriett mentioned having "two kids", as if Judy never existed. How dumb!

In Happy Days while they were in Court Richie asks His dad on the witness stand how many kids he had and he says smart alec I have 2 kids, you should know that. Something to that effect.
