Default Top Five Closing Themes

1. The Bob Newhart Show (Season 2)- Pure delight to the ears.
2. The Mary Tyler Moore Show (Season 3 or 4, I believe)- Sensational music ended each show either in seasons three or four, I think. (can anybody tell me which seasons the closing themes changed?)
3. Cheers- Stellar music.
4. Wings- Brilliantly scored.
5. Taxi- Da dum dum, da dum dum, dum, dum, dum, dum, dum...

As you can see, I like alot of non-lyrical closings, though prefer lyrical openings.

Frasier is also wonderful, both the show and the closing theme, so appropiate for the show, even if you'd never seen the show, you'd put the show with the closing theme!

Well, basically, every soap opera ever created. Just imagine it, eveyr single soap opera theme song has a full-length 2-4 minute long version used for the closing credits. That's just awesome.

And "Little House on the Prairie"'s closing was always fun. I loved it when it was a two-parter and part one ends with such extreme melodrama, and then there's a fade to black and then that cheery, happy closing music starts. It's just freakishly hilarious.

Great question! I have never specifically listened for the closing themes...

The only one that I have noticed was the great closing song for WKRP in Cincinatti; it's also one of the few that I have noticed that was totally different than the opening theme.

It's not a sitcom, but I think the show with the best closing theme was "The Incredible Hulk." It was such a sad melody...gets me every time.
