James Van Praagh speaks to Florence Henderson of Robert Reed - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The Insider on ET was shown earlier on Television which featured a sit down with Psychic James Van Praagh who spoke to Florence Henderson of Robert Reed and also her family, I'm not sure many of you may believe in this type of thing but i thought it was touching and wanted to share with Brady fans what was said between the two.

"Have you had dreams of your old co-star ROBERT?" James asks Florence. "I feel that he's here."

Robert is Robert Reed, of course, who from 1969-1974 played Mr. Brady to Florence's Mrs. on the campy, Nick at Nite staple. He died on May 12, 1992 from colon cancer and complications from AIDS.

"He's apologizing," James continues. "He's talking about sending flowers to your dressing room. He says you knew when he was ticked off because there was a certain look that he gave you and you were like, 'Uh oh, here we go again.'"

"Yes! He apologized a lot," Florence says.

"He's saying he's sorry he was moody," James adds. "He's saying, 'You know, I really didn't want to be there.' He's saying I really wanted to be in New York. He said he liked N.Y."

"Yeah, he did a couple of plays there. He loved N.Y. He brought all the kids there, too, before they went to Europe."

Robert, who played the patient, always ready-to-listen dad to perfection on the show, was in fact a classically trained Shakespearean actor who resented the sitcom's simplistic storylines.

"He said, 'I felt bamboozled into the role,' and he wants to thank you for helping him," James tells Florence. "He couldn't control things and he's talking about that. He's showing me Julius Caesar and he's doing a role. He wants me to tell you he can now do Julius Caesar."

"He loved Shakespeare!" Carol replies. "I used to tell him that 'The Brady Bunch' was not Shakespeare. But he taught before he died, as a matter of fact. He taught Shakespeare at UCLA. I was Cleopatra and he was Caesar."
