Our dog Molly -a maltese- whos 4 has been really sick. My Dads friend gave her to us last year because they were moving and shes not doing well. When she was a puppy she had a heart transplant, and she has her good weeks and her bad weeks. This is the worst shes ever been- shes been like this about a week now. Her legs are all stiff and she cant really walk too well now, because shes been laying down so much they hurt. She just doesnt look good. My parents are taking her to the vet right now and my Dad had me give her a kiss goodbye 'just in case'. I dont want to see her suffer, but shes so young and I just want them to figure out whats wrong with her so she can be healthy.

Shes home! I heard the car pull up and I ran to the window and saw my Dad hugging the blanket. Shes in really bad shape though.. shes just so lifeless and stiff because shes been sick for almost 2 weeks now and now she needs to get her strength back. My Dad said she could die tonight [his words, not the vets], so I shouldnt get my hopes up. There really isnt anything we can do, cept try and feed her and Ive been trying to get her to walk but ugggh.

I work at a vet so I see things like this all the time, even though I have never personally experienced it.

. My Dad said hes probably gonna have her put down tomorrow. I really hope not, but it probably would be best for her, Im just selfish.
