Default ????

It makes me a little weary when I ask a trader who they are and try to get address to make a trade or purchase and then they tell me "let me burn the discs and ill give u my contact information later on"----

it sounds suspicious, and also this HAVE LIST is verrrrrry similar to the have list of another poster who turned out to be a scammer,

please rsvp to my emails and prove me wrong if you are legit

thanks and i hope you are real and not the same old wolf in sheeps clothing

the reason i ask for your name address is

1. u r a new poster and i want to check you out to be sure u r legit

2. i like to know who i am dealing with

i am not mad and not upset, but ive asked several times to know who im dealing with and thus far, ive not gotten the answers

Default Trading and trust

Unfortunately, tis the season for a lot of bad traders to resurface.

So many times, new traders are met with caution.
As well, this site is designed for that very idea in mind.
By talking to each other, traders can eliminate the risks of being taken advantage of- or at least kept to a minimum.

I myself have had to run, and had checks run on me.

I can speak highly for Lamont and without hesitation say, their caution is nothing but heeded advice from me, other moderators and a trading history.

But finding out facts is also what makes some of the great traders

So althought it might be a litlte daunting at first, or even catch a new trader off guard-
Your name, address, email is often times offered up for these measures.
Take no offensive to the method-
Its similar to airport security.
It sucks for the 99 percent honest people...but it really does weed the bad ones out quicker.

Default Selling

Tvshow---your previous post refers to selling, this is absolutely not allowed on Sitcoms-

"What I did say was do not send me any money yet because I have to copy the set first, and that I will e-mail you when it is ready"

I have contacted you privately about this matter.

sorry for posting here, but I agree with everything you said. What do you think when you ask someone for an email reference of some kind and they take immediate offense to that? I don't trade alot, but I'm not exactaly new either, but the above has happened to me once. I thought it was odd how someone struck up an argument with me for something as simple as an email reference request. Odd or no?

Default trader checks

i do trader checks in situations like this b/c there are a lot of scammers out there

and yes most legit people dont mind if u ask about them

BUT if they do its usually a scam

ALSO i think its odd when someone says my name is such and such
BUT do not make check or money order out to me make it out to my friend with a totally different name

THIS PERSON tvshows_dvd
did just that

AGAIN, i am ONLY passing on the info for you to judge, i am making no claims

BUT tvshows_dvd gave me 1 name that was hers, and told me to make moneyorder out to her friend, b/c her acct was overdrawn?

she MIGHT be legit, BUT this is a classic trick of those who scam to try to throw u off in case u file complaints or try to pursue a fraud report

I HOPE SHE IS LEGIT, b/c they claim to have good stuff, BUT im going to let someone else go first and see if she is legit/...,. if she is ill be 2nd in line to deal with her, but i cant take the risk of being first..... just too many caution flags going up

AGAIN, judge for yourself, and please prove me wrong.... ive been wrong before and someone i doubted came through big gime

BUT i wanted to let u know JUST THE FACTS, MAAM

Default Hey, Cheborgnik!

If it looks like crap, smells like crap, and tastes like crap... it probably is crap. Don't step in it!

that i am too trusting

maybe that is why all the scammers seem to email me about 10 times a week
ha ha

i dont know i try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes the obvious answer is the correct one!

Arrow Newbies send first!

A newbie that boasts a vast collection, an unknown in the trading world, would 99 times out of 100 be a scammer.

Three cheers for my new motto Newbies send first!.

Default always good rule

another thing to watch for
newbies with big collections, who didnt trade with anyone at all to get any of the shows ( I guess they authored all of the sets from scratch!)
and newbies who do not want to trade at all,and ONLY want to sell their sets at $200 a pop

hmmmmmmmmmmm............

2 + 2 = ???????????????????

Sad Wow...

Geeez I never knew putting my list out there would cause so much controversy. I apologize for all of this to everyone involved. I should have first of all read ALL of the rules because I obviously am new and don't know what I can and can't do. I was not aware of few things that apparently I am not allowed to do on this site. I will not post anymore I promise. Again, since I am new to this that is why I am really iffy on the whole trade thing. I'm not familiar with, which person sends first? How do you know they will send you something back if you send first? It's just so confusing. But just to clerify, I am definitely not a scammer I promise everyone that. I guess I understand why you would think that though with how everything turned out. I am doing a trade with someone that has agreed to go first, so we will see how that goes. Hopefully it's a smooth transaction and it builds my trust towards this whole trade thing. As far as my information Lamont, you know that I had no problem with giving you that. I don't know why you insist on saying that I did. I was only asking why you needed it before we even decided if we were going to have a transaction at all. Being new to all of this, it was weird to me for someone to just want my name address, and everything like that right off the bat. I was not defensive or anything, you know that. I just didn't know how this all works. Besides, I got a lot of other requests and no one reacted like that. Like " I need your name, address, ect. before anything. I need to know how im dealing with" But if you've been scammed many times I guess I can see why you reacted the way you did. (Although that can still get you nowhere by the way, even if you do know the persons address, I'm sure you can still get scammed.) Ok well, anyway, that is all. I just wanted to apologize and clerify some things. I guess I'm really sorry guys.
