Default What If "Miss Bliss" Had Continued?

I was thinking about something the other day. Obviously the original "Good Morning Miss Bliss" series bombed, or else it would have gone on for more than half a season. But what if it hadn't? Would they have been able to do another season? Since Miss Bliss was the main character, wouldn't each subsequent season have needed all new students?

Maybe they would have done a "Boy Meets World" thing, where Miss Bliss changed grades with the students. It could have dealt with her, along with the students, experiencing something new (high school) and they could have added some new teacher friends. I don't know if Belding, Milo, and Tina would have been there.

Come to think of it, it might have been easier to just change the kids and leave the teachers on the show.

Another thought that comes to mind, Zack and the gang graduated 8th grade and went on to highschool. "Saved by the Bell" would have been a spin-off. "Miss Bliss" would have made a second season with a new class. Belding probably would have stayed on "Miss Bliss", so "Saved by the Bell" wouldn't have been as good with a different principal.

The way it is seems right. We follow Zack and Screech (along with their friends) from 8th grade through their freshman year at college. We'd even follow Screech through his job, as adminstrative assistant to Mr. Belding.

Except for the 2 movies (Hawaiian Style and Wedding in Las Vegas), which also seem to be missing from DVD.

I still would like to know why wasn;t the screech character eliminated from Good Morning Miss Bliss and the Mikey and Niki characters were eliminated?

Because a young Screech was incredibly charming and endearing. Mikey and Nikki, not so much. Very little charisma and not that funny.

There may have been other reasons too, but from a creative standpoint, that'sthe answer.

What in the hell was ever funny about Screech?

Personally, I don't even want to think about what would have happened! GMMB was a kind of charming show, not in the same way SBTB was.

To this day, when you see a Miss Bliss show, things don't seem as strange or as tacky as they do when you watch SBTB. It's so much fun to watch and think "Oh my god, look at their outfits!" etc. or watching episodes like the Summer vacation episodes, which we never would've gotten if the show had stayed with the original formula.

Personally, I -love- my SBTB just the way it is and can't imagine if it had gone the other route and continued with Miss Bliss as the main character instead.
