Favorite Beatles Album
If you're a Beatles fan like me, this is a tough choice because they ALL had
some great songs on them. But, if I had to pick one, I would go with "RUBBER SOUL." You might say this was the transitional album, between the early Beatles sound (i.e., the "Beatlemania" era of the live concerts) and the studio years ("SGT. PEPPER," "ABBEY ROAD," etc.). Some of the notable tracks: Norwegian Wood, You Won't See Me, Think for Yourself, The Word, Michelle, I'm Looking Through You, In My Life, and Run For Your Life (although John Lennon said he hated the last one). Surprisingly, not one single was released from the "RUBBER SOUL" album in the U.S. On a related topic, my favorite Beatles songs would include: 1. Yesterday (sung by Paul) 2. Something (sung by George) 3. In My Life (sung by John) 4. Yellow Submarine (sung by Ringo) |

My favorite album was "Meet The Beatles" Only because that after I got the album I played it until it was worn out. In fact when ever I got grounded for something my Mom always banned it from my life which was "cruel and unusual punishment" . She was so cruel and unreasonable!
I remind her of it to her a lot! That was absolute torture and child abuse! Oh my! I was in such pain! Oh.......................................

So hard to pick one.
Rubber Soul was the first Beatles cd I got a long time ago. So long ago I can remember afterwards waiting for the White Album cd to be released, mine is actually numbered. I got Rubber Soul intially because I was least familiar with the songs from that album. It turned out to be the one I always went back to. check out this website: www.geocities.com/rubbersoul40years But I have gone through phases where different Beatles albums had become my particular favorite of the day. A Hard Day's Night Rubber Soul Revolver Sgt Peppers Abbey Road A Hard Days Night is right up there with Rubber Soul in being my favorite. Nowhere near the maturity or unique signature to come, but just great songs. Most underated Beatles tune- I'll Be Back. |

made (although LET IT BE was released last, for reasons that I won't go into). The LET IT BE album had two producers, George Martin and Phil Spector. Paul hated what Spector did to his song "The Long and Winding Road" (the lush orchestration). Nevertheless, it was their last hit single (unless you count "Free As a Bird" and "Real Love"). "Long and Winding Road" peaked at No. 1 on the charts and stayed there for two weeks (it remained in the Top 40 for ten weeks). Of course, the ABBEY ROAD album produced a double-sided hit ("Something" by George Harrison/ "Come Together" by John Lennon & Paul McCartney). I also like the cheeky "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" (by Paul) on that LP. Besides being great songwriters and performers, the lads from Liverpool had a marvelous wit and humor. |
