Default How you cope with Sadness

Today hasn't been the greatest day for me as I've had to face the truth. But despite that, I don't feel that bad. I feel okay. So I got the idea for this thread. What do we do when we're miserable?

Depending on my misery it's different things:
Listening to miserable music if I want to bask in my misery or
Listening to happy music if I want my spirits lifted

Writing...journal maybe. I do it the old fashioned way though. No livejournal, aye

playing songs on the pinana

My most important: Watching comedy shows. Three's Company and SNL have been known to make me very happy when I'm sad. I think that's why I'm so obsessed with comedy today. All the stress in my life and that's what made it not so bad. Joking about your problems and laughing at them...very good thing.

I definately deal with things the same way you do....I truly think laughter is the best medicine. If I watch something funny, my troubles with my depression seem to subside a bit. It's a great form of denial Sometimes I'll hang out with friends to forget stuff, but I don't have many friends, so scratch that.

Writing helps a lot....going on the computer...venting on my journal. Those little things help.

Push it away. I dont really allow myself to feel emotions, so I try and forget about them by listening to music or whatever. Sometimes Ill just drive in a daze.

Go in my room and think for a while. Then I listen to music, it usually calms me down.

Yeah, it is actually a big form of denial. I like to ignore the bad...if something's upsetting me I don't want to talk about it or hear about it. I just want it to go away and comedy really helps.

first of all, i'm really sorry about today

its hard to say what i do "when i'm depressed" because it would be just summing up what i do in most of my time when i'm home. stay in my room alone for a long time, just think, write abstract things in a journal (rather than explaining it all in full sentences), listen to sad music, write some depressing songs on the piano, cry and mope to myself. and hurting myself makes me feel better but i don't want to recommend starting it.

I wish I could say I do what you guys do listen to music, watch funny shows et.c But I don't I turn to binging. Somehow food just makes me feel better even though I know it will just hurt me in the long run. It feels like I would be empty if I didn't sit down and start eating till I felt like I am going to pass out.
