The worst feelings in the world - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

We were asked today in my sociology class, "what are the three worst feelings in the world?" I thought I'd ask everyone here out of curiosity.

1] Working hard for something and then having it yanked (or almost) away from you. I pulled Honors this marking term for the first time since 8th grade, and am ecstatic about it. I've worked hard to get my grades back... well my school district is stupid about it's attendence policy. You can't be out more than 3 times a quarter (I was out 4 with bronchitis) and they're making me appeal it. My guidence counsleor said she'd take care of it though... but still. I was so nervous.

2] Seeing someone you love crying. It rips my heart apart. My father makes my mother miserable, and she's always crying. My boyfriend's grandmother died recently, and he cried for 4 straight days. It just really makes me sad to see people cry.

3] Knowing someone you love doesn't care about you. And even if they do, they do a really bad job showing it. This one's been eating at me for months. I hate it.

Probably the first 2 that you named would be the same for me, the third would be seeing innocent people be hurt or killed for stupid and selfish reasons.

These are what makes me depressed....I am not sure about everyone else but these really get to me:

1.) hopelessness....feeling like things will never get better, no matter how hard I try to change my life. It feels like I'll do something good and I'll be feeling on top of the world, only to come crashing down again. That realization sucks.

2.) self-consciousness....feeling so paranoid because I think everyone is analyzing me and judging me. I constantly feel like nobody likes me for the way I am.

3.) mortality...realizing that everyone I love, whether it be humans or animals, will die one day.

LONELINESS...is by far the number one worst feeling in my opinion. I feel that way a lot, like my world's turned upside down and there's no one I can really talk to, even my family and friends cuz I feel like they cause more problems for me. I'm pretty sure we've all felt that feeling at one point in our lives.

1. Rejection- no one will hire you...no one seems to want to be your friend unless it's convenient to them...etc. Makes you feel like a worthless piece of crap who's just a peon to society.

2. Lonliness

3. Fear- especially that unnecessary anxiety I felt for 3 years.
