Didn't Kathryn Leigh Scott leave the show because of poor writing? She didn't stay on it until the end did she?

I think she left because her husband was going to Europe and she went with him KLS that is .Maggie is part of the 1970 parallel sl but she leaves in the real time present(1970) She leaves in a very DS way.

Her last appearance is in episode #1108, which is right before the 1840 flashback begins.

She left because her boyfriend was moving to Paris; she was working without a contract for her last 6 months on the show. I doubt the writing factored into it - IMO the last 6 months of the show had some of the best storylines in its history.

I missed Maggie when she left. She and the original Victoria Winters (Alexandre Molkte) were my two absolute favorites on the show.

The part of Samantha in 1840 was written for KLS, but she decided to get married and move to Paris instead. That's the reason Maggie went to Windcliff at the end, Dan Curtis told her she was "crazy" to leave the show
