It no longer looked like a Soda Shop, it looked more like a DINER. I think that's the only inconsistency from the 70's version to the 80's version.

You got to remember, the place was reopened under new ownership after being closed down. If something is going to reopen after being shut down, you should expect some changes.

Maybe they bought an empty shop next door, knocked down the wall and became the NEW improved Rob's Place.
