I watched a clip of the Joanie/Chachi wedding.
Howard gave a toast and said that "both of my children are married." He mentioned something else about them and referred to "both" again. He forgot about his oldest son Chuck? Where's Chuck? What happened to Chuck??

After the second season they just had 2 kids and never really mentioned Chuck again.

chuck was a useless character
they dumped that idea after season two there really wasn't a need for him
