Default TV "Favorites" and Best-of's sets?

Looks like more companies are using "Best-of" sets to test the waters for various shows before putting out season set releases...

so what are YOUR thoughts on these "Best-of" sets?

I don't like what they do to shows like "Mister Ed" and "The Beverly Hillbillies", because your just getting a random collection of episodes. I'd prefer the show as scene in it's original order. Season by season of course!

Personally I wouldn't want to buy them, because with my luck, they'd then release the season sets and I'd be stuck with two copies of some episodes. I'd only buy them if that was going to be my only option.

I generally don't like them because I prefer season sets. That's why I've held out on the Welcome Back Kotter collection, but I believe that that show is likely to come out in season sets anyway eventually. One best of I bought is for Radio Free Roscoe. I figure it's a less popular show, so any sales that particular release gets might help towards getting a season set released.

So in the poll I picked the choice closest to how I feel: "only if they say that my favorite show is NEVER going to be released in season sets"

Yes I'd love a Best Of dvd... especially of rare shows which have zero chance of having season sets released.

I'd love to have a "Best of" the Edison Twins, Double Trouble, Whiz Kids.

I'd add Small Wonder and Eight is Enough - but I reckon they might get season sets.
