Default When JJ was painting the neighbor lady who lived in the other...

building across the way from the Evans' building, how was she able to make a telephone call to the Evans' without knowing their telephone number? It was obvious they didn't know each other because JJ referred to her as "the lady in the building..." etc.

Yeah, good point. I never thought about that. I knew it was gonna be her when the phone rang, but that was dumb to have her call anyway. Even though when the phone rang, I liked when JJ said, "I'll handled it." I think he said that in this episode.

Maybe she looked them up in the phone book. It does have your address in the phone book when you're listed. And when JJ picked up the phone she could have said. I'm your neighbor from across the street and such and such. LOL

I guess it's the same way that one man got their number when the Kids were selling underwear.

But if she didn't know them, and didn't know which apartment they were in, how could she know? I can look at a tall building and see thru the window, but I would have to be God to know what unit/apartment number to even begin to try and figure out who lives there.

Well, it's funny i never caught that before, but when I did, JJ referred to her as "that lady" and then Thelma looked in that direction and never responded. She even asked JJ who he was painting. It was then he told her the lady across in the other building. Thelma never said she knew her. Michael wasn't even in that scene. So, it was made clear the lady was unknown.

Well, if she saw JJ, then all she had to do was ask around about a tall, skinny goofy looking kid with a hat and I'm sure someone would've said JJ Evans.

Still, don't see that happening...but, it would have been funny to see the lady go to their door (if she asked around who the doofus was) walk over to the painting and walk right out with it. No words, nada. Seeing that all kinds of weird crap happens on this show, why not have shown that? would have been funnier than the phone call. Which, as craftman said, was pretty obvious when the phone rang it was going to be the woman across the way.

She could have known who JJ was, when you live in a place for as long as the Evan's had then I'm sure a lot of people would know who you were even if you didn't know them. Then she could have looked up their number in the phone book and gave JJ a call.

When I was in High School people would call out my name or say hi to me and I wouldn't know who the hell they were.
