Printer Help

I go to print off this thing that has gray and purple in it. The colors come out salmon and pink. It's got a full color cartridge in it (at least according to the printer), and the settings are the same as they always have been. Any ideas? Would it matter that I don't have a black cartridge in the printer? I just thought the color cartridge did all the color mixing.

I have a Lexmark Z25.

I'm not sure, but I think you might need a black cartridge also. But like you said the color cartridge should do all the mixing maybe you can find Lexmarks website and find some trouble shooting tips.

I have a Lexmark Z25.

it may actually NEED the black, but it may just be because the ink cartridge is very low on ONE of the three colors or too old - take out the cartridge, tip it back and forth to move the ink around, replace it then recalibrate the printer (dont ask me to remember how to do that on a Lexmark, but it is in the printer tools/properties) - if that doesnt change anything, add the black cartridge or try a new color cartridge.

I did a...oh now I can't remember what it was called...some cleaning thing and from that it looks like it's low on blue because the blue line that was supposed to be solid was still broken after 2 cleaning cycles. So I'll try taking it out and shaking it and see what happens.
