Default Nellie kicked butt

Face it, we all secretly loved Nellie's tantrums, backstabbing, and lies. Nellie kicked a$$ and was proud of it!! It is too bad she was always caught and had to learn a lesson. Let's face it, we all really like the baddies don't we? They rule!

Nellie was cool at being mean, but Nancy the "wannabe" acted like somebody who was bipolar or something.

I beleive it was because she keep getting caught and being made accountable for her actions that led her to be the person she grew up to be, Nellie in the last few episodes she was in, was the sweetest, kindest person you would love to have for a daughter. No that little brat needed the lessons she was taught! Same for Willie, he turned out great too - Real friends to Laura and everyone else.

I loved the character Nellie! The actress that played her was awesome! Probably wasn't easy to play such a mean character with such intensity!
How she became all nicey-nice in the last episodes I'll never know!

My favorite Nellieism was when she was ragging on Percival's height: "Why don't you make a SHORTcake...how 'bout some SHORTribs...do we have enough SHORTening...you should right a book, SHORTcuts to Cooking." She said it so snide, and it was classic.

I really like that scene. "I hate this place, and I hate cooking, and I hate short people!"

Nellie was lovable in that brash Miss Piggy sort of way. Nancy was just a scary, emotionally damaged sociopath.

AGREED! I just seen the first episode introducing Nancy, actually part 2. At least Nellie never tried to kill someone and frame another for the deed.

Nancy had that evil death thing going on. She could have been on one of those Poltergeist Movies.

LOL!!! CLASSIC!!! Than he shocks her by dumping the bowl of eggs on her head!!! and Nellie meets her match!

Percival: "I also have a very short temper!!! Why your Mother built this place for you, I'll never know! You certainly can't cook and have no right to be dealing with the public! And as pretty as you are, you don't need a restrauent to catch a husband in the first place!"

Than Caroline comes in the kitchen, "Nellie, what in the world happened?"

Nellie: "Something wonderful, he said I was pretty!!!"

I will never forget that scene! EVER!

Ahhh, Nellie and Percival. Or, in Alison Arngrim's own words, "Taming of the Shrew Meets Little House". I also LOVED the egg scene, and where Harriet finds out that Percival is Jewish. I thought she was going to explode then and there!!

When I went to the Tombstone Film Festival in July 2005, there were many LH cast members on hand to sign autographs and do Q&A panels. The two Oleson girls, Alison Arngrim and Allison Balson, had their very own panel. Here they are:

They explained the ins and outs of playing evil, and the capper is when both ladies donned curly blond wigs. It was a scream!!

Here's the photo of that magic moment:
