Exclamation 'Seinfeld' Rerun Pulled from Syndication

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - A rerun of "Seinfeld" scheduled to air in syndication
last week was pulled out of concern that a certain story line played for laughs would
be too disturbing now.

The episode, in which George's (Jason Alexander) fiancée Susan (Heidi Swedberg)
dies from licking toxic glue on cheap wedding-invitation envelopes, was taken out of rotation because of the nation's current jitters concerning tainted mail, according to
the AP. It had been scheduled to air Oct. 22.

"We're trying to be sensitive to all the content in our programs in light of the recent events," says Andi Sporkin, a spokeswoman for Columbia TriStar, which syndicates "Seinfeld."

"The Invitations" was the show's seventh-season finale. After George finally agrees to set a wedding date with Susan, he convinces her to buy the cheapest invitations
possible. Her death from the envelope glue is played for laughs -- George is finally out
of a wedding he really never wanted, but Columbia execs believe airing the episode
now would be inappropriate.

Sad

That sticks.

Is the episode about the "Puerto Rico Day Parade" still not being aired as well?

I really liked that episode cause it had Mr. Pennypecker in it

I believe that the P R Day parade episode has been yanked from syndication because Kramer sets a PR Flag on fire (by accident, of course). It was yanked after P.Rs complained, and the syndicators wimped out.

Will the PR Parade Day and the Toxic Glue episode be ever shown again? Or is it taken out forever?

Both those episodes are shown regularly in Britain. In fact, the toxic glue episode was shown a couple of weeks ago. And BBC2 aired the Puerto Rican Day episode about a month ago.
I don't think there are any plans to show 'The Puerto Rican Day' again in America (there were too many complaints) but I think that once all the anthrax scares have died down there shouldn't be any problem with showing the toxic glue ep.

I'm proud to be an American and everything...but I've about had it with everyone's big @$$ freaking opinions. It's ok to have opinions, but for crying out loud...tell it to someone who cares. America is filled with a bunch of whiny, ignorant idiots.

Okay, so the episode was taken out of the rotation because of, or in reaction to, the fear and panic felt after 9-11-2001... and in particular, I'm sure, the postal anthrax scares.
