Default Fred vs. Rollo

Fred hated Rollo (and with justification), and here's some of what was said:

Fred: "Yippee yippee yay yay look who got of jail today." Rollo: "Sayyy Pops what it is?" Fred: "What it was."

Rollo: "...what's the good word?" Fred: "the good word will be when you say 'goodbye.'"

Rollo: "Why do you treat me like a criminal...?" Fred: "Because I want you to feel at home."

Here's the complete third quote:

Rollo: "Why do you always treat me like a criminal when I come over here, Mr. Sanford?" Fred: "Because I want you to feel at home."

The only thing that confused me about Fred callling Rollo a criminal was there was never any ep with Rollo being arrested for anything so I was always wondering why he was referring to Rollo as a criminal.

I think it's because he had been in jail in the past.

Rollo was also the one with criminal tendencies in the show. When they found the gun, Fred wanted to get rid of it but Rollo wanted to hock it. When they thought they had pot growing, Lemont wanted to get rid of it but Rollo wanted to smoke it.

But it was never said by any other character that he was in jail in the past.

I guess we were suppose to assume he was a criminal because of his style. Even though Fred referenced it a lot, Rollo never seemed like a criminal to me. he was your average wild buddy who just was looking to have a good time.

Rollo: Man I hope not because I don't have a picture of myself niether
Fred: Well Rollo, why don't you go down to the post office and take one of your pictures down off the wall

The time when Fred thought Rollo had stolen a diamond ring, which was glass.

I thought it was mentioned earlier season 1/2 about Rollo being in jail in the past. I think Fred didn't trust Rollo because he was more of the streets and wasn't doing anything productive to support himself.

You know that scene was part of a WPHL 17 Promo for Sanford and Son 18 years ago.
