Default Why do TV channels show the same show on different channels?

why do tv channels has the same shows over and over aging? The Cobsy show comes on WGN 4:00pm , Cobsy show comes on 1:00pm on at tbs and then on nick at nite 10:30 pm and 1:00am Full house comes on abc Family 12:00pm and 3:00pm and nick at nite 9:00pm Why don't they replace it with a new show?

Because it's not like they all work together so they can just decide who gets who. If a show is Syndicated and gets good ratings, a network is going to put it on no matter who has it at the time.

It all comes down to advertising dollars. If each of these cable channels think they can pull in viewers and in turn advertising dollars, they will air the same show.

I get Everybody Loves Raymond on TBS, one of my ABC affiliates, and both of my WB affiliates. The best part is that the two WB affiliates air the same episode at 7:30PM. Of course, considering the FCC forces one of the WB affiliates in my air blacked out during primetime, I think this is a special case.

That really ticks me off too. I'd like to see some shows that are on NO networks instead of a show that is on two. For instance, bring back The Facts of Life, The Wonder Years, Family Ties, etc. I mean it's great to see all of these great shows, but I wonder what else could be put in their time slots, ya know?

Full House is on Nickelodeon at 8:30 before Nick at Nite starts.

im not going to single out any one show that gets overplayed but dollars or no dollars all the overplaying sometimes makes even diehard fans get so sick of whatever show they once loved that that these same diehards dont even want to watch it anymore
