I have noticed a few people were asking about this song on episode 68, Mork and Mindy meet Rick and Ruby. I caught this episode on syndication when I was laid off, and took a liking to this song. Between watching the caption (I am deaf
) and watching Mork sing, I kind of picked up the rythym. I tried to find the lyrics with no success until I finally hit the jackpot with this forum. But in the meantime, I did find the origin of the song, contained in this link:http://www.genj.com/archive/culture/katz.html If the link doesn't open for you, the song was written by Jonathan Katz and David Mamet and sung by Bobby Bare on Katz' CD "Easy Listening, But Not That Easy". They tried to do a parody of a country song but did it too well. Now I have a favor to ask: If anyone can direct me to the sheet music for this song, that would be great. Thanks to DetectiveGriffin for his rendition of the lyrics. |
