Default best of family matters coming on DVD

im surprised no one posted this but if you go tvshowsondvd.com in the news section they're putting out a "Best of Family Matters" out on DVD to test and if it sells good they'll release seasons.

Default Family Matters might get a Best-of DVD release

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4392

I was really excited when I got mail in my inbox from TVShowsonDVD.com regarding news on Family Matters on DVD, but I got really disappointed when I saw that the headline only read "Best of." I think a show like this needs to have its own season set...I mean, that's what I've been looking forward to and expecting! But the article reads that this Best-of release is meant to test out whether the show will be released as a season set, so if you're a Family Matters fan, you should definitely pick up the DVD.

Thanks for posting that and for merging the two threads together too. But I don't see why Family Matters wouldn't sell a lot as a season set. It's still a pretty popular show and it ranks amongst one of the top 50 most wanted shows on DVD at TSOD.com. I would buy every season of it if I could!

I just like to know where some people get all the money to buy all the seasons from hundreds of shows.

You will read where a few people will say I got all the season that are out of and name like 150 sitcoms. You know the seasons sets are not cheap and are not real expensive. Just wondered how they manage to get all the seasons that are out of them sitcoms. Most will say they bought them new not used or copied by someone from tv.

I only collect The Simpsons, Family Guy, Boy Meets World & Full House. But I would definently collect Family Matters if they came out with season sets.

I can never find these Warner Brothers episode compilations anywhere in stores, I have been looking for F-Troop: Television Favorites for months.

Does anyone have any news on when Family Matters - The Best Of DVD will be getting released on DVD? Also, does anyone know what episodes will be on the DVD?

They said they're not doing it anymore, I got an email from TVShowsOnDVD.com about three days ago saying that the WB is cancelling the release. If I find the link, I'll post it here.

There was another article on that website stating how WB was disappointed with the sales of other releases and losing money of this venture. I think with Family Matters, they need to add extras to season one as it differs greatly from the rest of the series. It helped sell the first season of A Different World.

When will this be released, and what "best of" episodes are they going to release? It seems these news are about ten months old. Just wondering.

It's a shame they aren't going to attempt to release season one to see how it goes. In fact, season one is my absolute favorite season, and I wouldn't mind if they only released this season uncut. I missed out on the pilot episode release on the special edition DVD cardboard insert that came with the season one of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I didn't want to spend about $25 just to get that FM episode.
