There were so many good r&b albums in the early 90's. It's a shame some of these artists i'm about to type aren't even around anymore.

Isiahthomas, you got a memory of all the R&B songs from the early 90's. I love the songs "Merry-Go-Round" and "I Give All My Love To You" by Keith Sweat, "I'm Dreamin'" by Christopher Williams, "Poison" and "I Thought I Was Me (BBD)" by Bel Biv Devoe, "Here & Now" by Luther Vandross, "The End of the Road" by Boyz II Men, "For Your Love" by Stevie Wonder, "I'm Ready" by Tevin Campbell and "Another Sad Love Song" by Toni Braxton. I love them all.

I forgot about Boyz II Men's Cooleyhighharmony album. That's their best album. My favorite songs on there is Uhh Ahh, It's So Hard To Say Goodbye, Motownphilly. Keith Sweat's first album came out in 1988. That album is a classic though. I like Keith's song Funky Dope Lovin with Gerald Levert & Aaron Hall. I also like his Twisted & Nobody songs.

I wonder why Bell Biv Devoe's Gangsta song isn't on their Hootie Mack album. That song was the first single from the album because they had a video for it. Ginuwine's Pony song i like a lot. I love that beat. Aaliyah's Back & Forth song is my jam too.

I heard Steve Wonder for a while, but I totally forgot about his songs and talent. I think I remember the sounds and it seems pretty cheerful or heartwarming.

1996 isnt early 90s lol, but I love 90s R&B. 1996 is when it a lot of the backround music and stuff started sounding less "early 90s" and more "late 90s" if that makes sense. For example, if you listen to "Age Aint Nothin' But a Number" which was out in 1994 and "One In a Million" by Aaliyah in 1996, the sound is a lot different, with the 94' cd sounding a lot more dated. Anyway, one of my favorite groups when I was really young was SWV, if anyone remembers them? "You're the One" I really liked that song. Oh, and Zhane! No one really remembers them, and no one remembers Mokestef's "He's Mine", either. There were so many good R&B songs back then. R&B was the best when it started in the 80s thru the mid 90s....

The 90's were known for introducing the greatest R&B singers and groups and introducing a new type of genre known as New Jack Swing/New Jill Swing. One of the top R&B female groups of the 90's was Jade and when they released their album Jade To The Max in 1992 and had a hit with the song Don't Walk Away Jade was on their way to be famous but after their second album Jade disbanded but if you can find their album Jade To The Max and listen to it you'll be shocked at how great early 90's R&B music was. Then there was bands like En Vogue and SWV that showed that girl groups still had the talent as it was in the 50's and 60's. But I think when singers such as R. Kelly and Tevin Campbell made their debuts it proved that the new breed of singers would bring in a new audience. And when Tevin Campbell made his debut in 1991 he was barely a teen and he had an awesome debut but when Tevin released his sophomore album I'm Ready the title of the album and the song of the same name suggested that Tevin Campbell was truly ready to begin singing songs for a mature audience. But in the early 90's the same thing happened to female singers and an example of this is Shanice and when Shanice released her comeback album Inner Child in 1991 she was barely 17 after her debut album Discovery failed in 1987. And when the song I Love Your Smile came out Shanice became a household name all over the world and she is still active in music today. But when you compare early 90's R&B to today's R&B you'll see that the early 90's was much better than what's out today
