Default Did Dan die on the show?

I haven't seen Roseanne in a while, I caught an episode a while back. It was probably the last season, and Roseanne was narrating a scene. She was saying something about when Dan was around, and it seemed to go off with the the camera showing an aerial view, and showing Roseanne alone. So I am asking any Roseanne fan did Dan die?

yes, apparently he died when he had his heart attack the season before. roseanne was saying in her narriation that everything after her birthday episode (when they gave her the writing room in the basement) in season 3 is totally made up for her book she wrote.

He did die, according to the finale show, but he didn't die when he had his heart attack the season before, how could he, after her birthday, everything was made up for her fictional book. Yes, according to Roseanne, he passed away the year before, but it wasn't in detail. We were just told he passed away. Remember, the season before was all made up.

I looked at the last episode just know, and she said ''I lost Dan last year to his HEART ATTACK''.

yeah, but not the way it was shown the season before when he had his heart attack at Darlene's wedding. Remember, that was all made up. Darlene married MARK, not David. So, in fact, Dan did die the year before of a heart attack, but not how it was presented to us the season before.

I personally ignore Season 9, so in my mind, Dan never died!

I agree season 9 was so hard to follow at the end.

Thank you. Good to know i'mnot the only one. That last episode when she started spewing all that crap.... ugh. Please, I just don't follow. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but... Darlene married Mark? No thank you.

It was certainly a very original and unique way to have the finale, but yet, I felt like we were cheated. It reminded me of the "Dallas" dream, abt Bobby not being dead and the previous season was all Pam's dream. Personally, though, I am so glad they brought Bobby back, but there were some good story-lines that were going on during the season he was gone and then POOF, no more.
I wonder at what point Roseanne decided to end the show like this? anyone know?

Roseanne was basically a show everyone could relate to & when they won the lottery, who could really relate to that?! It's not everyday everyone in the world wins 65 million dollars. I think Roseanne planned to have it a dream from the beginning.

I would have liked to seen entire episode of what life was really like after the dream as the finale instead of Roseanne talking at the end of the episode. Like for the last episode, we'll see Darlene & Mark & we'd see Becky & David, & Roseanne would find a new man. I thought that would have been interesting.

But it wasn't a dream...Roseanne was writing a book and we were watching her book come to life. Roseanne could not have predicted how her show was going to go, so i don't see her conceiving this idea from the beginning.

yes. on the last episode of Roseanne, she said that the last year was how she wanted the series to go. she then told what really happened and the first thing she said was "Dan didn't survive the heart attack" so he died.
