Default Savage and Loren

I can see why Savage is a moderator. Right up on her diplomacy. In her last post when the waters started getting testy she proposed that instead of tossing barbs that it would make sense to email each other privately.

Loren heeded this advice and emailed me as a perfect gentleman. We emailed each other and Loren gave me his phone number and we spoke at length on the phone. Loren came across as a classy guy and it was my pleasure to converse with him. Sorry for all the grief on my part and hope to speak to him again.

there are enough BAD traders and Scammers out there for us to worry about without having the good traders on bad terms with each other

i trade with u both and have always, always, always been happy with everything from both of u

Default Communication

I am very glad my post helped a little, but the real help is when we as a group communicate with each other.

A lot of times we have to remember things come across very impersonally online, on the web.
Typing isn't as polite or specific as talking- voice infliction, mannerisms of being in perosn and so on are lost into a method of writing.

So when arguments or differences pop up, we shoudl all take a moment and ask if maybe we are being defensive, or taking something personally-
And then, personally ask the person. A 15 second email can save a lot of irritation and aggression.

Lilhave and Loren are both excellent traders I have had the benefit of sharing with - and are quite the asset to this community. So it pleases me when people like that can get past an argument and misunderstanding as this.

it wasnt magic, two old time bs ers spoke on the phone for 90 minutes and talked about youall at length

and of course our passion, old tv shows

the posts are just words, they are written with one thought in mind, and read with another

you can read the same thing as the next person, and get a totaly different idea

i am very protective of my reputation

i learned how important that was through all the yaers i was a sports collectables dealer, on the internet, thats all you have is your reputation

when i think soemone is calling me out for whatever reason, i get just a whole bunch protective, and defensive

were a lot like the waltons here, were stronger against the scammers when we share info and stick as a group, but we also squabble at times,

awww. Group Hug? :-)

Sometimes the internet becomes something very impersonal and we
forget that there is someone else on the other side.

What we think is a friendly dig could easily be taken wrong or
when we think we're being very calm something we said could be taken
and made to sound very creul.

more people should be making things friendly and personal when it comes to trading than just looking at the mechanics of the trades. When it becomes impersonal, that's when things start to unravel.

Yeah, you're an angel. That's why you leave comments like this all over the place.

I'll edit so people like Redwhine can understand

You have no problem taking unprovoked shots at other people's reputation. Especially after you had a good trading relationship (with several trades) with this person at the begining. And for why? because this person was 7 days late in an e-mail for something they said they were making and were gonna send you. For this reason you made this person your enemy but although you try and keep a clean image on this board - You never stop taking personal jabs in e-mails and private messages.

Let's get this out in the open. I'll wear the villains hat ... I don't care. (Redwhine, the *sigh* speaks volumes - thank you, I'm sure you speak for the silent majority).

Nobody sees why this feud exists
It's the hipocrisy that gets me, not the fact that he is a seller (lots of US sell)

Default Not again

In this thread -This is NOT going to turn into a bi&chfest again.

Nothing was said to you Joker, this thread was in discussion to lilhave and Loren-
Your post was specificlally antagonizing.

My advice, is the same.

Either you contact Loren privately, and hash our the diffrence, or turn the other cheek.

But in a thread like this, nothign was said to you or about you- so I can't understand taking the time to poke at him.

Again, this is a big board.

If something is said about you, contact me or reply maturely.
If there is an issue you need mediated, contact me.
But don't go around looking for posts he has made, just to get in a jab or two. Please.

" I'll edit so people like Redwhine can understand"

It will end up being comments like this that will probably end up a no tolerance
policy getting instituted.

The first thing to add is did it add anything to the question, statement
or answer? Or was it just a slap to get someones attention?.

The 2nd thing is that a couple of the people involved in this discussion
has said that they wanted to have good reputations. Acting like
immature rugrats does not get you a good reputation. It gets you looked
down upon in trading circles.

This is obviously a continuing personal issue between two relatively intelligent traders on the boards. Wherever you trade that is your business. But
this at this sandbox, that unfortunate annoyance is starting to become
a major problem.

If you can't play nice with each other, then perhaps it might be time to just
ignore each other?

Default Agreeability

I appreciate the post, at least I am making sense somewhere.

I dont' expect everyone to get alone.
Please, life isn't set up like that.

And I am not specificlaly trying to pick on anyone, or make an example out of anyone.

I am sensing Joker, you are very very very frustrated- and you have pointed out the fact you feel a double standard on Lorens part- noted.

You, to my knowledge are a good trader.
There are a lot of other good traders to find, and seek out trades with.

My advice is this-

Joker, dont respond to Loren, period. If something is being said, come to me- that's what I am here for.
Same goes for Loren.

If you two aren't trading each other, and no one says anything about the other- there should be no problem - since you woudl both be not interacting with each other, equally.

I won't choose one or the other, I wont take sides. And again, I wont tell you you HAVE to get along with anyone.

I will say life is short, pick your battles wisely.
And there are a lot of good trades to be found, if you stop looking for posts to pick battles with.

I encourage everyone to heed this advice- should a similar situation arise with anyone else.
