Does anyone have an opinion on when the show went downhill?

This show went bad when Kate redecorated the house after her marriage to Edward, and got rid of all the toys. It got even worse after NBC cancelled it and they made new episodes for syndication.

I think the gradually went downhill after the interior of the house got a makeover. Actually, some changes were acceptable, but the train gradually vanished into obscurity.
As for the show producing new episodes for syndication for its fifth and final season---well, at least there was a fifth season, though the series was probably going to be canceled again anyway. Don't forget, Charles In Charge was canceled after a one-season run on CBS, then it returned as a first-run syndicated show for four more years. |

I think that the show went downhill when he went into his mid or later teens. The first few seasons, like 1,2, or maybe 3 were all pretty good, but then it went downhill straight from there. I also think that the plots of the episodes were really stupid.

I agree that the show went bad after they got into the last two seasons. I think the overall plot of the show was good, as were the first two seasons of the show. It seems almost as if the writers got bored with the show and just wrote stupid stuff in a lack of ideas to just get the show done and over with. I think it's a shame because I think 'Silver Spoons' had great potential to be an excellent show right up until the last season. I also think that if they had not had episodes such as 'One For The Road' part 1&2 and 'Mister Cool' they probably would have had more of a successful show. I don't know if any of you agree, but I hate shows that stereotype teens.
