The Sixth Finger: Gilligan finds a glowing metallic medallion that causes the castaways to evolve at incredible speed. Before long they are all reclining in chaise-lounges constructed to cradle their massive heads while they do everything through telepathy and telekenesis. They think back and forth to one another about the irony that their greatest gifts have actually left them physically helpless. The Professor makes a potion out of roots and berries that counteracts the effects of the meallion. Six of the castaways drink, but when it's Gilligan's turn he suddenly evolves to the point that he shakes off his physical form and is one with all things. The others are dazzled by his brilliance as he floats above them. He tells them how much he cares for all of them and then says goodbye. As he disappears, several Coast Guard ships appear near the island.

Episode 2
Lovey's Quandry: Mrs. Howell, while on her morning stroll, finds a battered copy of Crime and Punishment that had belonged to Wrongway Feldman. Once she starts reading she can't put it down and becomes increasingly afraid that her life, up to the present, has been nothing but a vapid and superficial romance with soulless materialism. She begins asking weighty questions about justice and guilt and spends sleepless nights by the signal fire, drinking coffee with the Professor, and asking what it all means. The other castaways see the strain on her grow and finally, one day, it happens-------Mrs. Howell's parasol doesn't match her outfit! When Mary Ann points this out, Mrs. Howell looks at her parasol and starts laughing and, in that moment, is enlightened. |

you know there weren't that many episodes to that had a plot revolve around Mrs Howell. That might be interesting.

Episode 3: One in Every Port
The Skipper's wild and slutty former girlfriend, One-Eye Estelle, coincidently gets shipwrecked on the same island. Almost as soon as she's ashore she sees him walking alone by the lagoon and starts yelling "Jonas! Jonas! Hey Jonas! Is that really you, Fat Boy?!" The Skipper looks up, sees her, and his face contorts into an mixture of shock and dread. Estelle lets out a braying laugh, immediately throws her arms around him, and begins kissing him on the neck. The Skipper pushes her gently away; he learned a long time ago that there is a very thin line between love and hate in Estelle's heart. He explains that he and 6 others have been on the island for some time. "Oh!," cries Estelle, "I'd just LOVE to meet your friends!" The Skipper winces, knowing she would embarass him in front of each and every one of the castaways. He imagines the chaos of life on the island with Estelle constantly stirring up drama and seeking attention and begins shaking his head. "No," he says out loud, "no...not gonna happen....it's not right. We may be shipwrecked, but we've got a good thing going and we all get along----you'd have us all enemies inside of a month!" The Skipper picks up a large rock and brings it down on her skull. "I'm sorry Estelle," he says, looking down at her sprawled body, "but a man can only take so much. If I have to be stranded here, I'm going to be stranded in peace." He hefts her body up around his shoulders as if carrying water back to camp and hikes to the lip of the volcano's crater. He throws her in and, as he walks back to camp, realizes that while he feels somewhat guilty, he feels just as much relief. "A terrible thing to have to do," he says to himself, "but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do." That night at dinner, the Skipper looks around the table with a new appreciation. These lovely people are family. He stands and says "I'd like to make a toast...if we have to be here, I'm glad we can be here together." There is general agreement around the table and they all drink. |

I've heard from one or two sources that I post here only to aggrevate or to ridicule GI. Just for the record, folks...I'm a big fan of Gilligan and enjoy your company on this board very much. I know most of the things I post are fairly bizarre, but my intention is to stretch the limits a bit and hopefully find some humor by putting the castaways in some very un-GI contexts...an odd thing to do since one of my favorite things about the series is that it ignores most of the complicated tangles that can make life a struggle. I hope that if you take some of my posts in the spirit intended that they might make you and me both smile for a moment. Happy New Year

Keep posting those stories, they're a hoot.
Here's a webpage with what are indicated to be actual story ideas for the 4th season that never happened: http://www.gilligansisle.com/4th.html It's a good thing some of those were never made, many of them sound like potential "Jump The Shark" moments. |

It seems by that point GI had turned into an all out fantasy show with magic and stuff.
I haven't told anyone this before, but there is one scene that I swear to God I saw on GI way back when I was really little, but when I watch all the DVDs now, it's not there. Maybe I was confused with another show, or I dreamt it or something, but it has Gilligan showering in a waterfall and he sees a beautiful woman with long, blond hair and he says over and over "You're a beautiful girl, you're a beautiful girl!" and she coos back "You're a beautiful boy!" and that's all I remember. What I would have liked to see is the above except let's turn the girl into a mermaid that only Gilligan can see and he falls in love with her. Nobody else believes him. Much better than a dinosaur, I think. |

Yes,I recall a similar scene too:Gilligan was showering in the waterfall.Suddenly,he sees a beautiful girl who's swimming near him.Well, first he thinks that she was an ordinary girl but when she takes a dive,he notices her fishtail. In shock,Gilligan slips, hit his head on rock. She rescues him and brings him to the shore. She disaspears quickly when she hears somebody approaching. The skipper wakes up Gilligan who was sleeping on the shore.Gilligan explains to his big buddy that he saw a mermaid but,the skipper doesn't beleive him. But,she's watching the 2 men leaving the beach and she swims away
![]() Did Gilligan mentionne in an episode that once he saw a mermaid and the skipper said mermaids don't exist? He argued with the skipper about it.Or did I imagine that too

I noticed on MadScientist's latest thread that some people were a little confused---thinking there was some kind of inside joke...
....so I figured I'd bring up this old thread so they could see what we were referencing!
