the salesman was BLIND?-lol If money was tight I still wouldn't have bought the set whether he was blind or not. The only thing James had to do was be a little nicer about asking him to leave but to all of a sudden say-"I can afford the encylopedias" after just saying-"We have no money for encyclopedias" was kind of stupid.

I think it was because of how rude he was to the man before he found out. I don't think James realy wanted them he was doing it because he felt bad for yelling at him.

He still could have been like-"I'm sorry Mr. Anderson for raising my voice but like I said we just don;t have it in the budget right now to buy the encylopedia set" |

Didn't James aplolgize after Florida told him about his sight? Besides, the kids (especially Michael) were the ones who talked him into purchasing them in the first place. As tight as james was with money, he is willing to spend his last five dollars, LOL.

If James didn't change his mind the episode would've been only 12 minutes in length.

The slick salesman was using his handicap to take advantage of people by gaining their pity first.
If I were a saleman I don't think the ghetto would be a place where I would try to collect money. That guy probably could have made a killing selling Fuller Brushes. |

I don't think my husband would have come home and yelled at a total stranger not knowing why he was there. Now when the man had James donut I think that pissed James off a little bit more LOL, It would've pissed me off. I know that everyone here has had that happen to them before. Your at work thinking about something at home that you can't wait to get home to eat and when you get home someone has eaten and it messes your whole evening up LOL. |

Well, yeah, anyone, male or female would INQUIRE, either with words or body language. But I think that most people would introduce to their spouse anyone who was in the house. I mean, that's the norm. I can't see someone coming home and their spouse NOT saying who this person is. James didn't even give anyone a chance to say who this man is! Had he just waited a few moments he would have been told. It was obvious Flo was gonna tell him, but as usual, James jumped the gun and started ranting and being rude. And not all people who come home don't have the attitude of "who the hell is this?". I know I don't. I always figure it's a friend, co-worker, etc.
