I recall all kinds of things that happened in 1977.

The winter months saw one of the biggest snowstorms in history.

Three's Company made it's debut in March.

Groucho Marx passed on.

Star Wars was released in theatres.

Paul McCartney & Wings toured USA.Thus releasing their live LP"Wings Over America".

Some other popular albums released that year were Supertramp's"Even In The Quietest Moments",and,Fleetwood Mac's"Rumours".

The Peanuts gang were in their third cartoon movie"Race For Your Life Charlie Brown".

An unforgettable episode of All In The Family titled"Edith's 50th Birthday",where Edith is attacked by a rapist in her own livingroom,aired for the first time on October 16.

Before that,there was a memorable episode of Happy Days where Fonzie(on water skis)jumped over a shark in California.

Early December saw a major evening snowstorm that actually produced thunder and lightning.

The classic disco movie"Saturday Night Fever"was released in theatres on December 12.

Charlie Chaplin died on Christmas Day.

The summer of 77 was a particular fun time for me.My mom and I went on a vacation with her friend and two of her children in Prince Edward Island.There was something special about this vacation somehow.It was one of the best experiences of my life.

The Two Blizzards of 1978 were worse for me, but the news reports about the winter of 1977 wee much scarier. It was actually the first time I've ever dreaded the winter.

And when that happened, I swore John Travolta sold out. I didn't use the words "sold out," but that was how I felt about him after he left "Welcome Back, Kotter" for the movies.

Also, New York City had another major power outage. Incidentally, in the 1982 Dick Cavett documetary mini-series "Yesteryear," they used footage from the 1977 NYC Blackout for the 1965 East Coast Blackout.
