I read a article about female rapper Foxy Brown in People magazine Friday. She has gone deaf in one of her ears. I don't remember which ear she can't hear out of. She said her record label Def Jam doesn't wanna release her album now because they feel she's not any good to the label because of her hearing problem. Foxy said she found out who her true friends are when this situation happened. She said she's seeing a ear doctor specialist so she can get surgery done. I was shocked to hear about this. I hope she regains her hearing back. There's nothin worse than being deaf or blind. She's a decent rapper. Last album i bought from her was Broken Silence which came out 4 years ago. She had a album called Ill Na Na 2:The Fever which Def Jam records didn't release because it was supposed to came out 2 years ago. I used to have a copy of it that i got off the internet from a friend. I don't like that album. I think her best album is Chyna Doll which came out 6 years ago. I remember when i first heard her on LL Cool J's I Shot Ya remix, i was impressed. Her & Lil Kim used to be friends. Now they're enemies. I don't remember how their beef started. Foxy tried to make peace with Lil Kim awhile ago but Lil Kim refused to be her friend again. Foxy got a sexy body but her face isn't attractive at all. She looks good with makeup but without it, she's horrendous LOL.

I heard that about her as well. That's very sad. Kinda like Pete Townshend of The Who (as well as perhaps a lot of other musicians). It's pathetic that Def Jam doesn't want to release her album because her hearing loss. I hope she gets better.

Foxy Brown says she's been deaf for months
Rapper says she will undergo surgery to restore hearing early next year NEW YORK - Foxy Brown hasn't heard a human voice in six months. The rapper told reporters on Thursday that she was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss in May, during the recording of her latest album, and will be undergoing surgery to restore her hearing at the beginning of next year. "I ask only for your continued prayers and compassion as I embrace the blessings of my journey," she said, her voice at times choking up and tears coming to her eyes. She was accompanied by supporters including Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons and new attorney Joseph Fleming. Brown's hearing loss was disclosed last week by her former attorney, Joseph Tacopina, after a hearing in which her case on an assault charge was postponed until later in the month. The two parted ways just days after that appearance. At the news conference, Brown's medical consultant, Laura Arias, refused to give any details on what the surgery would entail, how long the recovery would be, or the exact date it would take place. Fleming said he was "cautiously optimistic" that an agreement would be reached with prosecutors prior to Brown's next court appearance on Dec. 23. He wouldn't say specifically what type of agreement he was looking for, but that "it will be something that will dispose of it without leaving her with a lot of baggage in the process." Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, has refused at least two misdemeanor plea deals that would have let her avoid any jail time for allegedly assaulting two nail salon workers on Aug. 29, 2004, in a fight over payment for a manicure at Bloomie Nails in Manhattan's Chelsea area. Brown said she would return to recording as soon as possible. "I am racing to the studio the moment that God affords me the opportunity to hear again," she said. |

I can't believe the label is holding back on release just because she is going deaf. No sympathy really. There are a few famous artists with a disabilty. Bocelli is blind but still sells plenty of cds. Wish her the best. I know with singing being deaf is very difficult.

She is deaf in both ears. She prolonged getting medical attention because she had other things to tend to.
