Default Your Favorite Live-Action Batman Actor

Lewis Wilson ("Batman" 1943 Movie Serial)
Robert Lowery ("Batman and Robin" 1949 Movie Serial)
Adam West ("Batman: The Movie" 1966 Feature Film)
Michael Keaton ("Batman" 1989 / "Batman Returns" 1992)
Val Kilmer ("Batman Forever" 1995)
George Clooney ("Batman & Robin" 1997)
Christian Bale ("Batman Begins" 2005)

This list doesn't count the animated voice actor Kevin Conroy from "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm". Please just pick between the live-action actors.

My choice: Michael Keaton!

Although I'm a Michael Keaton fan, I will give Christian Bale credit. For one thing, he is the one Batman that I wouldn't be able to tell he's Bruce Wayne. The others, it's kind of obvious. Michael Keaton has those distinctive lips that you could tell belong to (Michael Keaton's) Bruce Wayne. And George Clooney doesn't even change his voice any when he's Batman. If I live in Gotham City, Christian Bale's Batman/Bruce Wayne would be hard to tell that they're one in the same.

My order is this:

Michael Keaton
Christian Bale
Adam West
Lewis Wilson
Robert Lowery
Val Kilmer
George Clooney

It's harder putting Adam West in there, because his Batman was more comical, whereas the others were dramatic.

Michael Keaton!!! No doubt about it... the first two movies (the Tim Burton ones) are IMO the only good ones. The newer three don't even compare. George Clooney is by FAR the worst.

I'm not familiar with the older Batmans, so out of the ones from my generation of Batman movies, I would say Michael Keaton and Christian Bale are my favorites.

I'm glad to hear that someone else still likes Adam West's interpretation of
Batman/Bruce Wayne. Sure, today his delivery seems wooden and campy,
but for its time, his acting fit the character perfectly and I don't think anyone
else could have pulled it off.

This si a tough question.

But I gotta go with Michael Keaton.

Christian Bale is a close second, but I have to see Batman Begins a few more times to judge his performance.
