Here's another thread for when you have time on your hands. What television season is represented most in your dvd collection?


For me, it's 1976-77. I have 8 sets of shows that aired at some point during that season.

I didn't include everything I have because some shows had questionable seasons (like the Sopranos). In terms of decades:
50/51 - 58/59 - 6 sets (5 I Love Lucy/1 Honeymooners)

59/60 - 68/69 - 7 sets

69/70 - 78/79 - 48 sets (obviously I like shows from the 70s)

79/80 - 88/89 - 18 sets

89/90 - 98/99 - 28 sets

99/00 - 04/05 - 29 sets

I expect to add a LOT more seasons of 80's sitcoms over the next two months, closely tying everything up above. I expect to see a LOT of additions from the 1988-89 season added then...Yikes!

Like you, I didn't include all my TV-DVD's. I have my Carol Burnett Show DVD's from Columbia House, and it's hard to group them by season because one disc will have episodes from 1972 and 1977, and I have 18 TCBS DVD's total.

1984-85 and 1986-87, I have nothing from those seasons: no Who's The Boss S1 or Cosby Show S1. Those are two from that season I would most likely have, but don't.
