Actors playing different roles in series.. - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just started watching this series again and started from season 1. I noticed that they used the same actor/actresses for different roles throughout the 9 seasons...How many different people played multi-roles for All in the Family?

I noticed Barney was also the sargent (polish) in the first season and Boom-Boom was Duke's 2nd wife in the 2nd season. How many more can you name?

Before Vincent Gardenia played the semi-regular role of Frank Lorenzo, he was Bowman, the Bunkers' neighbor who sold his house to the Jeffersons, and also the husband of the couple whose ad Edith answered, who she thought was looking for just companionship, but turned out to be swingers, "wife-swappers."

I think he was a good actor, but the character Frank Lorenzo was too exuberant; acted like preparing a dish with a French or Italian sounding name was an orgasm to him.

Just today 10-27-05 I saw Roscoe Lee Browne. I think that's his name. He play the black man in the elevator where Archie gets stuck with a Hector Gonzalas and Eileen Brennan. Then he plays a hospital roommate separated by a curtain, who Archie thinks is a white frenchman.

Priscilla Morrill was on four different episodes - Archie in the Hospital, Class Reunion, Birth of the Baby and Mr. Edith Bunker.

Barbara Cason was in Election Story, Birth of the Baby and Edith Gets Fired.

Jeannie Linero played a nurse in Archie Gives Blood, a waitress in Edith's Problem and a grocery clerk in Unemployment Story

Estelle Parsons, who played Blanche Hefner, played Edith's cousin Delores in an earlier episode.

Before Bill Macy played Walter Findlay, Maude Findlay's husband in episode # 37 and the pilot for "Maude" titled "Maude", he played a uniformed policeman in episode # 31 titled "Archie Sees A Mugging".

Burt Mustin appeared on an early episode as a security guard at Archies plant, before he played Mr. Quigley in a few episodes.
