Default Couldn't They Reissue The ALF Season Sets???

They really need to reissue the ALF Season Sets. These syndication episodes are really rediculous. Each episode is missing 2 - 4 minutes from each episode. That is alot of time. I wish Lions Gate would understand that we do not want syndication episodes of ALF. We all want the original uncut episodes of ALF that aired on NBC to be released on DVD. With all the complaints that Lions Gate already got, they should understand that we do not want syndication episodes of ALF. There are some really good scenes that are missing that originally aired on NBC. I wish there was someway we could get in touch with the person that played ALF and ask him to contact Lions Gate and see if there is someway that ALF - Season 3 and 4 could get released on DVD with the original uncut episodes that aired on NBC. Also, ALF - Season 1 and 2 could get reissued with the original uncut episodes that aired on NBC. Does anyone know how we could get in touch with the person that played ALF or another actor/actress that played on ALF and ask them if they can contact Lions Gate and see if they can release ALF - Season 3 and 4 with the original uncut episodes that aired on NBC? Also, they would have to ask Lions Gate if they could reissue ALF - Season 1 and 2 with the original uncut episodes that aired on NBC. Roseanne - Season 1 was released by Anchor Bay and they used syndication episodes also. Well, Anchor Bay is going to release Roseanne - Season 2 and future season sets of Roseanne using the original uncut episodes of Roseanne that aired on ABC. Alot of people contacted Roseanne with complaints and then she contacted the studio, Anchor Bay about the syndication episodes and they assured her that the originals would be found on the DVDs. If we could contact the person that played ALF or another actor/actress that played on ALF, that would be great. They could let Lions Gate know that we want the original uncut episodes of ALF to be released on DVD.

I Love Lucy season 1 was reissued, and the X Files is being reissued, though they both have more to do with the discs and the packaging than the episodes.

Think about it some TV shows that are from the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's that are released on DVD are released with the original uncut episodes. Some TV shows are much older then ALF and they are released with episodes that are original uncut. Even if the original uncut episodes were not cleaned up, Lions Gate could have tried to clean them up and restore them with the original uncut episodes. I can understand why they use syndication episodes of ALF when the reruns aired, so they can add more commercials. Well this isn't TV with commercials, this is a DVD release and ALF fans expect the original uncut episodes when they are paying $40.00 for the ALF set. Also when VSC (Video Service Corp) released The ALF Files back in 2002, they contained 3 original uncut episodes and the picture and sound quality was perfect. I don't know why VSC (Video Service Corp) didn't release the ALF Season Sets in the first place. Lions Gate was just being cheap and lazy and didn't want to spend extra money or time getting the original uncut episodes cleaned up and restored. If Lions Gate really wanted to get the original uncut episodes cleaned up and restored, they could do it if they really wanted to. Maybe someday Lions Gate or another studio will decide to release the ALF Season Sets with the original uncut episodes.

3 minutes or less are cut per episode. Get over it.

The fact of the matter is that when you buy a show on dvd it should be complete with NOTHING missing. That is the point of buying it.

The funny thing is that I bet you are the type of person who buys full screen versions of movies vs. widescreen.

Wrong. I always buy widescreen if that is the way it was screened in the theater. I like things oringinally as aired / shown.

No this is not an unreasonable request by the consumer. This is down right crass of Lion's Gate not to deliver this show how it was originaly presented on Network Television.

No one should "Get over it." What Lionsgate did is outrageous. It's great they had the interest to release it and even go through the trouble of having interactive menus with ALF himself, but the episodes (which is the main thing) are the chopped up syndication prints and it sucks!

You act like three minutes isn't that much. Think of all the footage we're missing that takes up three minutes. A lot of the times when I watch a show uncut on DVD, the stuff that was cut for syndication is good stuff.

Seriously, who cares? Quit complaining! Just be happy that ALF is out on DVD, do you rather have no ALF on DVD at all? So shut up and be happy!
