I don't know anything about this guy, but if, as indicated in the above linked thread, he insists upon Western Union wire transfer, I'd decline. That's a DEFINITE red flag.

thats what scamemrs count on

your drive to get that one item, and you loose all good judgement

like the other person said

IF ITS WESTERN UNION, RUN THE HECK AWAY FROM THE TRANSACTION

any legit person will take paypal or bid pay

that way you can use a decent credit card, and have some recourse if the deal goes south

That is true but then say if i was a scammer and i said to you i want to buy some stuff from you, and you say okily. I pay via paypal and you send the dvds. Whats to stop me from filing a complaint with paypal to get my money back. They charge your account, now i get the dvds plus my money.

I've heard this happen to people in the past.

If an unknown and/or newbie offers you something that sounds too good to be a true, it probably isn't true, especially when money is involved.

If you sit tight, most of the time one of the more reputable traders will acquire the rarity you're seeking. It's not easy to wait, but more than likely you'll have fewer regrets.

either the person lied to you, or maybe you misunderstood the case

it doesnt happen that way at all

im a premire business paypal member for over 7 years with 1800 plus transactions

if i sell you something, the seller needs to have tracking numbers, if its over $250, it must be signature with tracking numbers

the buyer can complain about anything he chooses, but if the seller does his part and has the tracking numbers, then the complaint is ruled for the seller

the buyer can complain to his credit card issuer, and seek a charge back, but he needs a reason and there is a due process, even if there is a charge back, the item needs to be returned in resaleable condition

so no there is no way a person can get a refund and the item as well

i dont know why people insist on telling stories like this, i have heard the same story so many times

an each time its 100% false

fact is if that of a seller doesnt take paypal, i would stay away, its probably because hes trying to pull something

and please dont come back with the old--the fees are too high

please

the fees are 2.5 % total

and then i get 1.5 % rebate for useing the paypal debit card

so i pay a net fee of about 1 %

and i use that card to buy almost everything in life

i buy all my postage at the post office

all the blanks and supplies

i pay direct tv, all my car and bike insurance, even fees on ebay, etc

Here's how a seller would "pull something" using PayPal:
1. get the order & money from the buyer
2. send the buyer something, anything, w/confirmation.
3. when the buyer complains to PayPal, PayPal will do NOTHING.
PayPal does not and will not enter into disagreements as to what was sent, or the quality/condition of what was sent. So long as something is sent, and that can be proved, they will wipe their hands clean and walk away. It's as easy to scam with PayPal as any other payment method.

HOW one pays is completely unimportant. WHO ones deals with, is.

thats why you pay with a credit card

then if that happens

file for a charge back

i have a seperate account for paying for paypal items on iffy transactions

if you have a balance in your account, they will use that

make sure you use a decent credit card

and that your paypal balance is zero

no pay system is 100% safe

i feel paypal is as safe as one can get

and one more note

dont use the buyer protection insurance from paypal, it doesnt cover software, dvds, cds, movies, etc

they will trya nd sell it to you, but it is like the post office, its all good until you try and collect
