Lightbulb Suppose there was a Bob Newhart/Mary Tyler Moore Crossover?

I was just thinking, Suppose that MTM Enterprizes decided to make an episode in which 2 of their top shows crossover to one another, The Bob Newhart Show AND The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Which show would feature that crossover, what would be the plotline of that episode, and how classic of an episode do you think it would have been? So go ahead, let your imagunation run wild and how good do you think a crossover episode between The Bob Newhart Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show would be.

I could see Howard and Ted getting along. Maybe something could go with that.

Considering that Mary Tyler Moore controlled MTM, the crossover more than likely would happen on her show.

Maybe there could be a plot surrounding Mary and Bob. Like Mary feels sort of messed up during a trip to Chicago and decides to see a psycologist (Bob). So she joins the group therapy session with the rest of Bob's patients.

So, someone who's familiar with both shows should write one and post it on fanfiction.net in the TV Crossovers section (since I know there's no TBNS section on FF.net and I don't think there's a MTMS section either).

I'd try, but I'm not all that familiar with MTMS, and it's been a very long time since I've seen it.

How about there could be some romantic interaction between 2 characters from the opposite show. I'll give you clues to these 2 characters: Representing the Mary Tyler Moore show is a woman who is desperate for a boyfriend/husband, and representing the Bob Newhart show is a patient of Dr. Hartley's who is desperate to be loved at all. Can you guess who the 2 are?

Sue Ann on MTM I can't think of which of Bobs patients would be good for her though.

owen_a_peterson@hotm I don't know if you know about it but I think you will like it. It is the Fan Fiction board

Just for the record, I was considering a relationship between Rhoda and Mr. Carlin. She wants a man so badly she will accept anyone, and he wants to be liked by someone so much he would do anything just so he can have a friend.

I immediately thought of Mr. Carlin and Sue Ann when I read that. But I don't know a lot of the little stuff that it takes to be able to write a fanfic about SueAnn - though if set in the Chicago realm of TBNS, I'd probably be okay.

Hmmmmm (brain going....).....
