how many ignored responses and how long of a time frame do you give till you post someone as a bad trader?

the most common is the spam filters i wouldnt post just becasue a person doesnt answer emails, try a pm if they are on a trade site even the old 37 cent stamp method a negative post is next to impossible to take back, so be darn sure first if they prove to deserve one, then facts and figures and do the right thing |

yeah, i thought of that. but he has responded, and then got my discs and stopped. i've gotten the excuses that he's working a ton - understandable. then his computer crashed - things happen. then the email address that i was contacting him at got hacked into, so in the group that i trade with him in i wrote a general message asking if anyone had ever traded with him, and 10 minutes later i got a message from him. that was over 2 weeks ago, and have heard nor recieved anything from him. i planned on giving him a little while longer, i just don't like no communication and figured i would see what most people's time frame is. it hasn't been that long of a trade, just 2 months maybe. i just figure now that he's not responding that he's got my discs, i'm probably not getting anything in return.

Try sending a private message
go the user id name on S O board, and click it and it should give u options like, see more posts, send private message and then send them 1 that way they will get it I HAD SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN LAST NIGHT i was online but out of room, someone sent an IM saying i owed them some discs, but when i got back in they were gone and the AOL MESSAGER USER ID was not the same as their email i guess b/c i tried to email and it boucned back and i have no idea who this person is, so i hope they will email me so i can connect the dots always give people the benefit of the doubt sometimes emails end up in junk folders or get deleted email them again and use private message also AND I HOPE WHOEVER IM'D me last night emails me or give me a private message, so i can figure out who they are and what they are refering to? |

the only thing is, it is on a yahoo group. i sent him 28 discs, he wrote and told me he got them and that he was sending mine out. 10 days later, i wrote to him and told him i hadn't recieved anything. he said he had been working a lot. i said that's fine, i would just like communication. 2 weeks later, i wrote to him and told him i still hadn't received anything. never answered. so i put a post on the yahoo board asking if anyone had heard or traded with him, and 20 minutes later he wrote to me and told me that his computer had crashed but he got a new one. 2 weeks later i wrote to him and asked him what the deal was. he said that someone had hacked into his email and lost all my info. i resent the info, and now 2 weeks after that(last week) i started writing to him and telling him he needs to contact me. it's been well over another week, and it's starting to get frustrating me. the thing is, i didn't really want anything he had but 1 movie. so i'm going through all this crap for 1 disc.

nope, we are all square. i'd rather not post anything yet. i'd like to give him a little longer. i was just trying to see how long you guys usually wait until you give up on a guy.

by all means post the exact facts so others can avoid this problem
dates and what was to happen can really ghelp to gett he story out i am curious as to why you decided to trade with this person, i looked at the web site and from what i saw, any number of good honest people on this site could have supplied those items ,that they offer we have this quite safe area here, i think its only smart business to support each other in the group, and at the same time, not get you into a bad deal like this one turned out to be i read about 10 other trade areas on a every post basis but to be honest i realy dont do anything on the other sites, due to too many people that i know for sure are poor traders or just plain thieves theres not the regulation and reporting that we ahve come to have here a realitive safe zone |

i was trading retail stuff with him, it was on a yahoo group that i have been doing most of my retail trading on.
it started august 16th. he contacted me, and you know what they say about when you assume. i assumed we were both sending at the same time from the way he was talking. we set up a trade for all the south park i have(12 discs), 70's show(8 discs), and tom and jerry(4 discs) and i was supposed to get some movies and batman from him. I sent mine on the 21st, wrote to him on the 1st of sept asking if he had recieved mine and if i could get an update. never wrote me back. he finally wrote me back about 10 days later saying he had been working a lot and he would drop them in the mail over the weekend. i told him that was fine, i understand working a lot that i am a painter and sometimes work 70 hours a week. then about 2 weeks later i wrote and asked him if he sent. no response after 2 more emails. i finally wrote to the yahoo board and asked if anyone had heard or traded with him. he was the only one that contacted me, but it was from another email address. he said that he had a computer crash and that he would need my info again to send my discs. 10 days or so later i wrote him with no response, so i wrote to the board again. i was again responded to by him alone, saying someone had hacked into his email and he would need my info yet again. the last time i heard from him was about a week or so ago. i'm pretty sure i'm not getting anything from him, so i just figured i would try and make sure he doesn't screw anyone on here. |

shame on me for not checking on this guy before the trade, but it looks like i'm not the first to be scammed by him.
