That a friend you made on a msg board has died? I'm a member of a mom's board and even though I never knew this lady, she sure was a trooper. She experienced a lot of hardships with her ex and trying to bring up her kids the best way she could by herself. She had a baby 10 months ago and this baby turns 1 in December and never got to know how wonderful her mother was. I was deeply touched by her unexpected passing even though I only talked to her on cyberspace.

No, I have never had that happen with friends. Well, yes, sorta.... A couple of European Ace of Base acquiantance fans (not really friends) I have seen post (but never really spoken with) have passed away over the years. It's quite sad, actually....
I often wonder about people's whereabouts when they don't post on forums in a while. I wonder if they are busy or if something HAS happened to them. It's kinda scary, actually. I mean, which among of us would actually have family members/friends KNOW we are forum frequenters and actually update other forumers if we were to die? It's a scary thought..... |

Yeah...In fact, three posters I talked to on another message board passed away... One sometime in 2002 (forgot why), another one in December of 2003 (bad car accident) and the third one was in May of this year...Cerebal hemorrhage, I think it was. This happens to a lot of diabetics, and he had diabetes.

yes, i knew a girl from some metallica boards who died in a car accident a little over a year ago. a few hours before she was killed she made a deep post about what a positive influence metallica had had on her life. i wasn't very close to her but i'd known her on there and had been reading her posts regularly for about six months. i was pretty shaken up by her death, i spent some time crying after i found out.
i've thought about whether people on here would know if i died, and realized that if i did people from school would be leaving comments and such on myspace, so they could find out there.. |

Lots of things in perspective; I lost a friend in HS and it took me a
long time to get over his passing. Right now with this lady, I'm in the denial stage. |

That has happened a few times on other message boards to me. None of the pepole I was ever really close to or good friends with, but I got to know them from the boards. It's kind of sad because after they die, you know you'll never ever see them post on the board again!

No, it's never actually happened to me, and I'd like to extend my sympathies to those it has happened to.
