Default Telling someone you love them....

any suggestions on how to do it?

This could be for any circumstance, but for myself, it's a girl who happens to be one of my best friends. I'm never happier than when I'm with her, and I can't stop thinking about her. What to do, what to do.

And, because I respect her privacy & the fact that it would be a bit creepy if I posted her picture, if anybody wants to see what she looks like, just PM me. Not that any of you care.

Question - does she feel the same way about you?

Cause things could get awkward if you hang an "I love you" out there and she gives you a look like you just did something really really wrong...

Been there, done that.

I would be careful throwing that out there. You should first get a feel for how she feels.

Exactly. Just like Brian said. I have been on the receiving end of someone telling me they love me. I didn't feel the same way. I wanted to remain friends. Guess What? We are not friends anymore because he couldn't be just friends. That's not to say that all situations are the same. Just get an idea of how she may feel. Does she have a boyfriend? Do you two spend alot of alone time? Not enough info based on what you posted. But, you never know Barwars, she might be feeling the same way. Just be careful.

Barwars, my advice is to see how she feels about you first. You'll want to be really careful because you don't want to do anything that will ruin the friendship you already have with her, which seems pretty special in itself.

I've been in this situation. I'm totally in love with one of my friends and he knows I have feelings for him and he even brought it up and I told him that I would rather be his friend than nothing at all. Tell her that you have feelings for her but you were afraid to bring it up in fear of ruining the friendship if she feels the same way you might have a new girlfriend if she doesn't there's still the chance of staying friends but don't say "I love you" it could be really bad. If you stay friends there is always the chance of things changing for the better. The guy and I are still just friends and I do still have feelings for him and I think he's starting to feel something for me but I'm not sitting around waiting for him to make a move when he's ready he will if not I still have a great friend I wouldn't risk that for anything in the world.

I dont see anything wrong with telling her you love her as friends. If you mean Ilu in the romantic sense, then Id try and make sure the feelings are the same so its not akward. But saying Ilu just as friends is fine, and Im sure shed like knowing you care for her that much as a friend.

Best advice so far.

But really, thanks everybody for all your input.
Ireneparalegal, I do spend a lot of time with her, both alone and with other people. I would never put out an "all or nothing" ultimatum, which is actually what I fear more than anything.... that it does become awkward and that we can't remain friends.
I've casually told her "i love you" before, but I've done that with a lot of my friends.

Anyways, I guess I just got to grow some balls and go with it. And, if possible.... slip her a roofie.
