Songs that have bad advice?
I have some songs that have bad advice. Debbie Gibson-Play The Field She is singing this song in the 80's and remember this is the time AIDS was first becoming an epidemic and she is singing this song that impressionable teens and even young children as young as 5 are listening. Debbie Gibson-We Could Be Together. She gives THREE inklings of BAD advice in this song. The first one. She says that she will push away her boyfriend's love for the chance to be with someone else. She is pushing away a sure love for someone she isn't even sure about. The second one. She says that she will ignore the world's advice about the guy. Um, if EVERYONE is telling you that the guy is bad news, I think you should think twice. it's not one or two people, it's EVERYONE telling her the guy is bad news. That's a pretty good odd that the guy is bad. The third bad advice. She says if you say jump she'd say how high. So she is saying that she wants to be subservient , ruled, dominated, and controlled by her crush(who is not her boyfriend, this is the guy she will dump for her boyfriend). Bobby McFerrin-don't Worry Be Happy Bad advice: You haven't paid your rent and it's due, don't worry be happy. This would be THE PERFECT time to worrry!(I got this from a TV show called Worst Music Videos Ever", and they pointed this out. I never thought of the song that way until i watched the show). |

You hear that sort of thing in a lot of places. That's not my milieu. Rock and roll is good-time music. I love rock. So did my parents. |

"You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive:
And now I'm feelin' better, 'Cause I found out for sure. She took me to her doctor And he told me of a cure. He said that any love is good love So I took what I could get mmh, Oooh, oooh she looked at me with big brown eyes And said: You ain't seen nothin' yet, B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen nothin' yet, Here's something that you never gonna forget, B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen nothin' yet. And just who is the name of this penecillin-dispensing quack??
