MPI video will start releasing Family Affair next year on DVD. I have the Gidgets from TVLand. there are rumors that Columbia will be putting out Gidget as well (only need one set, only about a season's worth of episodes were made).

I'm sure I read somewhere, probably on TVShowsonDVD, that Gidget was in the works. No definite timeline, but it's on someone's list to do.

Love on a Rooftop is another '60s sitcom I'd love to see someone pull together - of course, both shows have Pete Duel in common ... nice scenery ... :>

that may happen but --if -- they actualy do release the entire series

it will be like three years from today before you would have it all

and i say if

there are lots of shows that will not get finished, after 1 or even 2 seasons are out

due to poor sales

i just saw season one of the waltons for $19 at walmart

thats a lot of discs for $19 9 disc sides

i dont think that one will go the distance if they have discounted it that far

we will see season one of shows in the $5 bins real soon

we all liek a lot of these shows

but very few people will actualy buy them at studio price

we all like them much better from netflix and a copy program

it dont cost anything to sign a internet petition

i know what u mean, look how fast they are spitting out BRADY BUNCH, a new season every other month, and poor old happy days and laverne and shirley and mork and mindy never made it past season 1

so sad

i prefer to have the nice official sets, in perfect quality with packaging
BUT since so many studios never bother to follow through with the series, who wants just season 1 of happy days?

That's been one of the problems with the official sets - some of the manufacturers are using syndication prints rather than going back to the original elements. Or, they release the first season, and the show didn't pick up an audience first run until season 2 or 3. I mean, who remembers the elder Cunningham brother if you're not a Happy Days fanatic (or have just too much useless information jammed in your brain)? Releasing just the first season isn't pulling people in because it's not the show they remember. Some of these shows would be better served with a Season 1 and 2 box release, to jump start to the episodes viewers remember.

Ah well.

So, Jen - how many episodes away from a complete series are you on Gidget?

look who they learned from

columbia house the king of leave the customers hanging with partials

and they get close to $20 a disc with ship and handling fees

like my perry masons, do you think columbia is going to release about 90 discs

and how about like land of the giants, half is plenty, lets move along now

or 5 volumes from route 66

the studils are realy unusal in selections as well

veronica mars is out alraedy

american chopper two seasons

all this stuff thats just been shown on the tube

it makes little logical sense

You should check out the Home Theater Forum (http://hometheaterforum.com) to see the discussions there about what gets picked, glitches in the releases, etc. Their TV on DVD section is hopping most any day of the week with folks blowing a gasket over what's on the shelves and what's still in the vaults. It's actually really interesting.

The thing is, what's special to me may not be of any interest to the next person. Stuff I've been expending lots of time, money and effort to track down means nothing to many traders. Really, really popular stuff doesn't float my boat, but it makes money for the company putting it out there. Who knows what's going to sell? Why did the first season of Mary Tyler Moore tank?

And who else is really looking forward to S'More Entertainment's Mr. Peepers release? :>

so in common language

they are just throwing the easy stuff in the box, without a lot of production costs

99% of the people dont know that shows are up to 6 minutes cut out on a one hour normal show

i guess they are counting on uninformed paying customers

arent these the same people who vote??
