Default Any College football fans out there??

I notice alot of NFL threads here on the sports board, but I rarely ever see any College Football threads. Infact, I don't recall ever seeing one. I personally find College Football to be far more entertaining, and meaningful then the pro game. What do you all think?? Do you have any favorite teams?? Who do you think will win the National Championship this year?? What about tomorrow nights game between the 9th ranked Notre Dame, and the #1 ranked USC, who will win?? This thread is intended to be a discussion about all things to do with the greatest College sport there is, football, so please respond!!

In answer to my questions, my favorite teams are the Oregon Ducks, and the Oregon State Beavers. My pick to win the National title this year is USC, for the third year in a row. They're not looking quite as good this year as they did last, but they still look better then every other team in the league. I don't think they'll have any problem with Notre Dame tomorrow. I'm guessing they'll win by atleast 14 points.

Pretty big Minnesota Golden Gophers fan here.

I don't really see USC losing any game as long as Matt Leinart is quarterbacking that team. Maybe Texas, that would be a great NC game.

The biggest surprise to me so far this season has been the poor play of the Oklahoma Sooners. I think they've been the most consistant team over the last 7 years or so, so it's kind of strange seeing them losing games so early on. The other big surprise has been Notre Dame. I didn't expect them to be much better then they were last year, and definitely didn't think they'd be in the top 10. I think the question is, can they keep it up?? I'm not so sure they can, but we'll see.

I can imagine today's game was quite a heartbreaker for Gopher fans everywhere. It looked like they had the game well in hand, before the kickers' kickoff got blocked, and ran in for a Wisconsin touchdown. Hopefully for the sake of all you Gopher fans, they'll come back next week, and demolish whoever they play. The pain of this loss will likely be a tough one for the players to swallow for a long time to come.

Yeah, I was watching it, and could not believe what was happening. I was pretty irritated for quite a while after that idiotic punter dropped the ball. LOL. Oh well, there was a lot of good football to watch yesterday, so it wasn't entirely bad. Better luck next week.

I am a Miami Hurricanes fan. I was rooting hard for Notre Dame last night though. Charlie Weiss has made the Irish a very exciting team.

I still think a tournament at the end of the year is a much better idea than the BCS. One tournament, one winner, it seems so simple.

I TOTALY TOTALLY COULDN'T AGREE MORE WITH YOU ABOUT THIS!!!! I can't even tell you how many people Iv'e written to, absolutely begging for their to be some kind of playoff system, instead of having 10 million bowl games. What's a bowl game worth, other then the National title, if there's so many of them?? The system they've got going now is totally flawed, and absolutely ridiculous. They claim that one of the reasons they're not changing is because of tradition, but if a tradition is unneccessary, and absolutely sucks, then they should get rid of it. Simple as that. It's nice to see that others feel the same as I do on this subject!! Hopefully the people who make those decisions will come to their senses soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

Anyway, it looks like the Oregon Ducks moved up 4 points on one poll, and five on another. With the rest of their schedule they only play one ranked team, so it's concievable that they could end up 9-2, or even 10-1. It's nice to see them having a good year again. The Oregon State Beavers also won over the weekend, beating a ranked team, and bringing their record to 5-2. If they win their game next week, they'll probably be in the top 25 as well. Things are starting to look good for College football fans in the State of Oregon!!

Yep, they sure are!! Their uniforms are ugly as hell, but they're still a very good team!! Iv'e actually come to like the color of their uniforms. I think it works to their advantage, as the bright yellow and green, blinds the other team, and gives Oregon an advantage. LOL!! Seriously though, Oregon definitely is a gritty, and fun team to watch!!
